Hello All Dears, Well before starting the discussion,i will tell by my self that i m a Muslim so don't bother to ask about my religion in answers.well few days back i was watching TV and i saw one cartoon show on TV in which they make fun of Jesus and then God.I found it strange and insulting that how someone insult the Jesus and God this way. As Muslim I believe in Jesus as our Prophet. Why don't christian care about it? does you never feel bad about it when you see these kind of insulting things for Jesus and God comes on TV.Both are the very important for christian and Muslims but i never find any christian who protect against it why?

The reason why this is possible is because in America we hold tightly to our most precious freedoms. The freedom of choice. The freedom of speech. Just to name a couple. We are allowed to worship any religion we want. We are allowed to follow no religion at all if we so choose. We are allowed to speak our mind, and we dont have to be afraid of people coming to our houses at night and killing us just because we said something they dont agree with. It may be disrespectful but really its the essence of a free society. Once we give in to fear and remain silent thats when our freedoms are destroyed. Furthermore, it is my personal beliefe that God has a sense of humor. My favorite quote is this: "God, please forgive my million small jokes on Thee, and I shall forgive Thy great big joke on me."

As a matter of fact, yes, I do make fun of my neighbors in front of them. And get this - they are black. I make jokes about them being black, and they make jokes about me being gay. We have alot of fun, and we do alot of laughing when we get together. They know that anything I say about them I say out of love, and they know I'm not actually a racist. Just like I know they arent really homophobic. I had them over for drinks just last night and we had an absolute blast trying to outdo each other with jokes. Its all about having a sense of humor. Making jokes and having fun. How boring would life we if we werent allowed to laugh at ourselves, or each other. Lighten up. Life was meant to be fun.

Christians are followers of Christ. As his followers we must walk in his foot steps. So, when Jesus was being killed, he was tortured, spitted upon, insulted and hurt in many ways. But, even on his torture stake, he prayed for his persecutors.." Father! forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing." When his tolerance and patience is so huge, as his followers we try to imitate him. If some1 is making fun of Jesus or God, its their own problem, just because they do, the importance of God or his son aren't going to diminish. So we mostly side line it and tolerate.

As a Christian, I am disturbed by people and shows that disrespect Jesus and God, but I also believe in the free will given to us by God and the concept of free speech given to us by our Constitution. When people have freedom of speech, they may say things with which I disagree, I may say things they don't like. But we each have the right to express ourselves. I agree with the poster who said that God doesn't need to be protected against those who would insult Him. They will be dealt with in time by God and only God has the right to judge the hearts of men. My God is not diminished by those who mock Him and my faith is not diminished. If I don't like it, I turn the channel. That's the way to stop this behavior, make it unprofitable.

I´m an agnostic but I would not like a all the lack of respect for Jesus, least of all in a cartoon. I can´t imagine how that could pass. I believe in liberty of expression but always there have to be limits. Take care!

I am a Catholic and I do mind those kind of things. The problem with my religion is that very few people have the zeal and passion for God, unlike you muslims. You have great zeal and passion, and I envy that. I wish Catholics would show more love for God and our neighbors. I think that any christian or catholic for that matter would feel bad about it. We would get hurt but we wouldn't take action against it because we werent taught on how to deal with these things. We don't have a doctrine that says "do THIS when THIS happens".

yeah you are right but we must feel bad about it,the one we beg for help is always respectful and we have to take care of.we respect out parents but not GOD,it is like equal to not believing in Him.every religion has values and i must say,we should protect against it and mostly christian are involve in this and even they are now making fun of everything and playing with other religions also. this is i called real terrorism which must be stopped.nobody has right to spoil the religion values.if he dont belive then he must not speak against it.

God can take care of himself. He doesn't need us to protect him. Believe me if he doesn't like what those people are doing they're definitely going to know about it in the end. Who knows? Maybe it doesn't actually bother him because he has better things to deal with and worrying about that kind of stuff only gives power to the ones who doing the insults.

They do these sorts of things because they want you to react. Once you react, they would be in their own element and you will be into theirs. Best thing is do not react, not to fulfill their purpose. If the purpose for which they did all this were not fulfilled, they would be left frustrated. This punishment alone would suffice, and they would refrain from doing the same thing again in future. If you react they will continue to do it, and it would only end up in bloodshed.

I am a Christian, I respect and honour Jesus with all my heart, but it doesn't mean that I have to hate the ones who make fun of Jesus and protest only to make things worst. Even if they stop making fun due to protest or due to the law, it doesn't mean that they will respect Jesus in their heart. The heart is what that matters. Jesus said, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." John 15:18. Jesus did not say to fight those who make fun of Jesus but he said, " Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you". It doesn't matter what the world may think of Him, but what matters is that the kingdom of Jesus is not of this world and He gives peace and happiness to His believers even if the whole world rejects Him. But for those who make fun of Jesus be careful and think twice because one day Jesus will judge the world and all knees shall bow down before him and all tongues shall confess their deeds. This is what the Bible says and I believe it with my life.

well i do believe that Jesus is my saviour and not just an ordinary prophet... HE was a God formed in to a man.. HE was a godlike as a man... HE was spirit conceive into man so men can see HIM.. no matter what others believe i will still stick on my beliefs... so why make fun of my Saviour? i mind what people do to HIM, mock HIM or so,,, their judgment will just come,,,
