what to call it lol
As you all know Gissi and I go to the Field every Morning and Night and Gissi has all his Friends there is about 5 of them
Bonnie and Molly are his favourites and they are both in Season right now, Molly always comes running up to me when she sees me, she is so tiny, she will want her Fuss then she goes to Gissi, Bonnie normally does not come charging up to me but she will come for a fuss, so will the others, well since Bonnie has been season, she comes charging up to me, jumps on me and cries lol, of course I give her extra fuss as of course as a Female I know what the poor Baby is going through, her Owner has told me, she only starts to cry when she sees me, well yes because she is getting the Sympathy that she deserves, when we sit on the Bench she will sit on my Lap, her Owner can not believe it, so I told him as a Male he does not understand how bad this Season thing is lol
This morning we arrived on the Field and goodness, 5 of them came charging up to me jumping up at my legs, needless to say I was covered in Dog Paws lol, also Brandy, the Lassie Dog came up to me, but thank goodness he did not jump at me as I would have been on my Butt, Gissi just stood there barking as if he was trying to tell them all that I am his Mum lol
Next thing this little Puppy came from nowhere and ran right in the middle of all the Dogs, he wanted to play, but none of the others did, some where still being fussed by me, others where rolling on the Grass including Gissi, who was threatened with a Bath if he smelt
Anyway the Puppy ran up to Gissi, started to bug him, at first Gissi tried to ignore him, it did not work, Gissi decided to run of, of course the Puppy was happy as he thought Gissi was playing, well he chased Gissi after about 5 minutes Gissi had enough and let the Puppy know, but Puppy would have none of it, his Owner then picked him up as Gissi was hiding behind my Legs, but I was watching Gissi as he was getting angry with being chased, so I ended up picking him up, the Owner did apologise, but I told her it is ok, it is just that Gissi only takes so much and I did not want him to hurt the Puppy
I put Gissi back down, Bonnie was straight over to him, of course being in season, tried to tempt Gissi, who turned his back on her
Next thing we know all the Dogs are rolling in the Grass which had just been cut, well needles to say they where all covered in Grass lol
I just love watching and fussing all the Dogs there
Of course Gissi still does his trick, he gets all the others barking, by barking at nothing, then sits there looking innocent, but the others are starting to get wise to him now, which is good as 6 Dogs barking certainly can drive you crazy, not that Gissi cares like
Do you like seeing Dogs enjoying themselves and being carefree?

Gabs, you really should keep all this in a journal. You write so well about Gissi's adventures that I feel I'm right there with you!
My girls always look at me from the deck when I'm in the yard doing some gardening. I don't usually let them come down with me because they run all over the place and don't listen very well, naughty girls. But, when I do let them come down with me, they tear around the property like their lives are on the line! They're nothing but white blurs, covering about one acre with ease. Of course, when it's time to come in, they're exhausted and in serious need of water, so they get fresh water then go find a good spot to take a nap.
Today, I kept the gate at the top of the deck stairs open. My oldest gal, Penny, is afraid to come down the stairs by herself. I didn't feel like carrying her so I told her she could come if she would go down by herself. Well, she didn't so she had to watch us from the deck while my youngest girl, Lilly, promptly ran down the stairs and tore all over the property by herself.
They love large, open areas. I do, too, because it makes them get rid of all that excess energy once we're back in the house. All they want to do is sleep. lol
I know Penny and Lilly would have a grand time with Gissi. They get pretty winded after a few minutes of running so Gissi wouldn't get too upset with them and all their energy.

Hi Leenie! My garden is coming along pretty nicely. I have tiny blueberries, cherries and peaches growing already and have blossoms on my kiwi vines, apple trees, blackberry and raspberry bushes. Everything is doing so well this year! I also have onions, shallots, garlic, lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli and radishes growing. I wanted to get peas in the ground this week but the week has been a blur of activity and I just didn't have time to get to the peas. It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I'll be working inside, probably all weekend.
My husband has been in Canada (Vancouver) this week on business and my son came to spend the week with me. He's been such a great help and we've had such a good time doing things together that the week flew by. My house almost looks brand, spanking new, too! Bonus!!! LOL We've cleaned, straightened, organized, cleared out unwanted things and did a lot of gardening.
My oldest son came over yesterday and I have to say that we had one of the best times together that we've had in a long time. He just broke up with his girlfriend and, since my husband was away, it was just the three of us and we had a blast. The boys pulled out the grill, we bought some ground beef and hotdogs and had a barbeque. Oh, my son bought some shrimp so we had barbequed shrimp, too. He had just bought the movie, Avatar, so we watched it together while stuffing our faces.
I have to tell you that Avatar is THE BEST movie I've ever seen! When they say it topped Titanic, there's a very good reason for it; this movie is AWESOME! I highly recommend seeing it if you get the opportunity. It's long, almost 3 hours, but it felt like it was only an hour long because it was so intriguing. This is the very first movie I've ever watched at home where I sat still through the entire thing and didn't even feel a need to be doing something with my hands, like knitting or crocheting. My sons even commented on my watching the entire thing without getting up once since I'm rather notorious for being busy while watching a movie.
Anyway, hopefully, this weekend, I'll have some time to get to my emails. I've been so busy that I've let a lot of things slide. I've just been taking care of what I considered the most important and, with the weather being so nice, gardening is my top priority, then getting this house organized. (Since hubby isn't here, I've been able to get so much more done than if he had been here.)
I'm going to miss having my son here. He'll be leaving tomorrow because my husband is on his way home as I write this. He left Vancouver at 7:15 p.m., their time, which was 10:15 p.m. here. He should be here sometime after the sun comes up tomorrow morning. Sigh. I wonder if I could convince his employer to send him somewhere else for a week... heck, I'll go all the way and say a month.
I hope you're doing well. I promise to answer your email when you send it. It's supposed to rain the entire weekend so I'll have a lot more time to get back to normal.
Love ya, girl!
Marti

Hey Marti,
I suggested just about the same thing you did. Gaby does write about Gissi like a pro. My Dexter would probably love to play with everyone. I can't take him outside without a leash because he would take off. So how's your garden coming?
I miss you. I should write you more often.
Hugs
Leenie

This sounds like such fun. I feel as though I'm there with you when you tell of the daily antics with the dogs and of course their owners, lol.
I do so much wish I could actually be there with you all. My babies would love being there too. Since I lost Ninja, (my big boy) all I have now are my little ones. They are min-pins and so active and hyper.
They would love being able to run around with the others and play. They have no little ones to go play with. I wish they did though.
I'm glad you and Gissi have this to look forward to everyday. I know that sometimes it seems a chore. But you would miss it if you did not have it to do. hugs

Awwww, that's not such a good day is it? I'm sorry but you know he will have these days. Maybe you can get a baby buggy to push for the days when he is not feeling so good. That way you would not have to carry him. I don't know about there but here they have small ones that are hardly nothing to push and small enough he could ride in it.
They call them umbrella strollers....I think he could ride in it. Also maybe someone could make a small buggy or he could be pulled along in a wagon. Now, that would be a pretty picture...lol. Hugs to you both.

What a delightful story gabs. I'm sure you got a lot of pleasure from being there...maybe even as much as the dogs themselves.
I love watching mine enjoying each other and relishing life. Whether they are playing tug-o-war, wrestling together or just rolling in the grass, I love being part of my dogs' life.

How I wish I could be there to see Gissi in all his glory, acting like the King - oh, sorry Gissi: you're NOT acting, are you? You ARE the king!

I am going to be interviewing a Shitzu this week. If it works out, I will have a little dog of my very own. From reading your stories, I am looking forward to taking a little dog to the park and for walks. I will let you know if the interview goes well. I hope the dog will be as compatible with me as you are with Gissi.

I guess that gives new meaning to a "dogs life!" Glad the dogs didn't get hurt. Yes it is fun to watch dogs play. Maybe if we all did that we'd have happier days.

Hey Gabs! I see that Gissi is still up to his old tricks! He
is still trying to be the "ringleader" wherever he goes! He is
one funny little man! He just has to be the dominant dog wherever
he goes! I so wish that I could meet him in person! I feel so
much like I "know" him anyway! I wish that he and his cousins
could get together because I would love to see what he does
around those two! I think it is adorable how he protects Bonnie
and Molly though! What a perfect little gentleman! He is such
a sweet and funny little guy! I just hope that he is taking it
easy too, although I think he is doing great! How are you by
the way? I hope you are feeling better too! Love, Leslie, Star & Luna

Hi Gabs..Going to the "Dog Park" as its called here is probably one of my most favorite things to do. We have to drive there unfortunately as it is several miles from the house and really the only place they are allowed to be off leash and to do "their thing" whatever that may be. My two get so excited when I ask them if they are ready to go. They make a bee line to the car and bark the whole time, tails wagging a mile a minute and they also take the opportunity to bark at pretty much every car we encounter when stopped at a light. They love to hang their heads out and they look so funny as the wind pulls their faces back..They are in heaven. When we get there, they pratically knock me down to get out of car and the minute I take leashes off, BAM, They are GONE!! I love to watch them run and greet the others. This particular park seperates dogs according to size, small, med and large which i think is a good thing because if not, Lambchop in particular would get in trouble as he does not realize he is little. Tabby likes everyone and will play with anyone willing. They have a little pool there and it is the funniest sight to see 6-8 dogs all sitting in it cooling off!! The park is huge, probably about 50 acres in all and its set way off the road. It is by far their favorite time of day and I wish I lived closer as I would take them twice a day. My neighborhood is not all that dog friendly and they have to walk on leash which they arnt all that fond of. It is so great to just let them be dogs and do what dogs do. The dogpark is great therapy for me as well because if you are having kind of a down day, you are immediately cheered up watching the things that go on there..Very funny, very entertaining. Its better than going to the movies for me!! When we get home, they both plunk down, exhausted, and sleep for a good couple of hours.Sometimes Tabby dreams and her paws are still running as she sleeps!! its too cute..

Gissi would so love it there..The little dogs seem to have the best time as the big dogs usually run and chase frisbees or balls that their parents throw. They dont seem to intermingle like the little ones do. Everyone knows each other there too and its a nice place to sit and talk, always about dogs and I've made some nice friends there..Lambchop would love Gissi to come over..Mischief loves company!!!

It sounds like you and Gissi have a wonderful time with the other dogs in the field, and it's so nice to watch dogs enjoying themselves like that. It's something I love to see.
Just a little point though Gabs - if my female dog was in season, there is no way I would be taking her out for a walk knowing there are going to be other male dogs there. I'm surprised there hasn't been a fight between the males to get to the female.

Yes Abbey I thought the same thing
There are only 2 other Boys apart from Gissi, one is a Puppy and then there the Lassie Dog Brandy, who is quite old to
But there are other Dogs on the Field and he lets the 2 Girls of the Lead to which surprises me, I have always had Male Dogs, but I have been told that Female Dogs in Season should not be out in the open but I don't know why he is letting them run free
But so far so good there has been no fights
Hugs to you

Hey gaby
I just love your stories about Gissi and you in the park or anywhere for that matter.I think you should make copies of all your posts about the Little Man, and make a book out of it. I'm just thinking of this for yourself. Or for that matter edit it and try and see if you can publish it. And of course title it "The Little Man". What do you think?
Love Ya Leenie

Sounds like the little guy is still being a gentleman with the ladies. Also sounds like a fun day at the park. Unfortunately, I live too far from a park, so my dogs just get to play with each other in the back yard and there isn't much grass to roll around in. Tell us more about your next visit.
