Am I too old?

April 24, 2010 12:38am CST
Yeasterday I celebrated my 32nd birthday and it got me thinking about the way I look for my age. My hair has a lot of grey and I was thinking about covering it up with a very blonde hair dye. I used to be a blonde out of a box in my late teens and early twenties and it suited me really well, but I am too old to be dying my hair very blonde? is there a chance it will only make me look older? Thanks for your input.

Hi It is a bitter truth of life that we(our Body) get older day by day and signs of aging will appear after certain Age. We must learn to accept this truth. One can never look as beautiful/handsom, as in his/her teen when he/she is in say forty. Cosmetics, hair die etc can help in hiding visible signs of aging, but your body will alwyas tell you about your age. But don't worry, because we feel as old as our mind thinks. So keep your mind young, stay teenager at heart and enjoy the life!

"One can never look as beautiful/handsom, as in his/her teen when he/she is in say forty " No offense but I'ma have to disagree with that one just a bit. Some people look 100x better in their 40s than in their teens.

Im 54 yrs old. The way i see it many people live to be 100 and over. So 50 must be middle. I do not understand what is the obcession about getting old while they are still young adults. I still feel very young myself. Stop painting your hair and/or face it just looks so un natural. FAKE written all over it. Try working with what God gave you instead of trying to change yourself.

When you cover your hair with whatever colour there is no way that it looks worse than when you see your grey or white hairs.Do it and you will feel much better and moreconfident.

dye your hair the same color they were before . 32 is not the age to think old. color your hair blonde and you will lookyounger rather than older.

I don't know. Some people frost their hair to get a silver/gray color. There was a woman in my church when I was a kid who was in her early thirtes, yet her hair was streaked with a silver/gray color. Everybody thought she did it on purpose. She looked really nice. But I say do whatever you want to do. I'm sure it wouldn't look bad no matter what you do.

I don't think it'll make you look older..you're only 32!!! That's not old!! Maybe you don't want to make it a really bright blond, you know what I mean? The blond that almost looks white? Don't do that! hehe A darker, natural blond would look good. Or maybe you can try a whole new color! Have some fun with it..I would like to dye my hair a dark, natural red--but my mom doesn't think that color would look good on me lol.

I did that deep red a while ago and it looks really good. Thanks for participating :)

Happy birthday for yesterday! 32 sounds very young to me. That is some 30 years younger than me! As for grey in my hair.. I do notice from time to time, the odd darker hair! . When I worked as a musician in a band on stage, I did bleach my hair blonde. Being a guy, that is OK for stagework, but now that I no longer do that, I have just let my hair go to its natural colour. _Derek

I would say when you hit your 40s is when it's getting old to bleach your hair or dye it too blonde. I think you're still okay. A lot of older women start looking washed out and I definitly think it makes them look a lot older than their actual age. have a nice day

Happy birthday for yesterday. I dont think anyone is too old to be dying their hair whatever colour they feel like! If you dont like it, you can easily change it.... its only hair. or, if youre really worried that it wont suit you, upload your picture & try one of those websites like try-on-a-hairstyle.

32 aredy, omg, u r about to be an old hag !wat about wrinkles? do u still haf leftover pimples from puberty age,n the wrinkles have enclosed them, volcanoes in a canyon! u sort of answered your own question, did you notice? And,Hmm lets see, a 32 year old blond haired look, well,in category of late 20s erly 30s, think Marilyn Monroe at her prime, Lindsay Lohan,Carrie underwood,Britney spears,Lady Di at that age,or god forbid ,focus on the other side ,Madonna, sharon stone, streisand ,blonde withour grey hair, very likely dyed ! See in them what u perceive of yourself! but always you can fall back on Reese Witherspoon to gain consolation, she is charming!

Happy 32nd birthday! You are only old as you think you are. Age is just another number. Let's not think about age then. Let us continue with our lives, continue to have dreams. Let us continue to learn, to share, to laugh and smile, to have a little fun, do some crazy things perhaps and get to see the other side of life. Life is not that bad after all! Have a great day!:)

Hello! Having gray hair doesn't make you old. My b-friend is 28 and has lots of gray hair. Of course you could try to dye it. You can even colour it in a colour that you want! Happy mylotting and remember we are as old as we are in our hearts!!! And what is 32!!!

How on the earth age has some thing to do with hair dye?No it doesnt matter much.Dye your hair and take of your health, especially your skin and you will look once again younger.Age is just a number. It all depends upon how you maintain yourself and how you see yourself in mirror. So start dyeing !

It's to do with age approprite colour. I don't want to be 'mutton dressed as lamb'.

Hi,beauty Well, everyone has to face the changes brought by age, time is slipping by and something happed on our feature, wrinkle, slack skin, grey hair, worse constitution...... Women are much more sensible on these changes,it's a reason they are willing to devote money in cosmetic. Some mylotters here must remind u keep ur mind stay young to help u appear better, and it's perfect if u have available cosmetics with u .

Well my mind is young and my kids keep me laughing, maybe all is not lost! :)

Hi beautyfactor. A belated happy birthday. I suppose when one reaches certain age we begin to worry...unnecessarily. I have a friend who had grey hairs at a young age (about your age actually) and she looked exotic and dignified in it. It showed as a streak on one side and I loved looking at it. Back then colors (or do you call it streaks?) were not even in the fad. But if it makes you feel better.... You could do experiments with colors to find out what suit you best considering your personality now which is different when you were a teen. Experimenting and being bold about it could be exciting. Cheers.
