Yes, I really do. Actually, it seems to be following me from place to place.
It really likes to eat stories - honestly - that seems to be a favorite.
But mostly it likes annoying little things.
Like jug lids.
For example, before the roomie had bypass surgery last year, she'd make up quarts of drink in old juice bottles - hey, it keeps them outta the land fill and recycling for a while.
But because she's just a tad blind, and the cats are SO helpful, things get lost.
After she goes a week or so without a lid, she would finally recycle the jug.
Well, since the bypass surgery, she tends to use the smaller bottles instead of the larger, because she can't drink as much at one time and they get warm (read HOT) faster so she keeps the smaller bottles.
ANYWAY...
So, she was sitting at her computer tonight and she heard a "clink" then a rattling noise falling down the back of her desk (that mind you, we've had out several times lately what with the new computer being put in place, then the new monitor and finally, new speakers). The object fell out from behind her desk and rolled out into the middle of the floor.
It was a lid to one of the big jugs.
One of the jugs she hasn't used in almost 6 months.
From a place that she wouldn't have put the lid to get knocked off from.
To fall behind her desk - that, remember, we've had out several times since the last jug was retired to the recycling bin...
It had to be that DARNED black hole.
It sensed that the lid wasn't valuable any more, so it spit it out.
Or MAYBE...
Maybe its a little Rift like the one in Cardiff...
Maybe we'll be getting a visit from Capt Jack...
What do you think?

You are going to have to know that I will opt for the esy solution. The cats have treasure hoards of lids and other small objects. When they take a fancy to, they move them In this case they have put them somewhere behind the computer desk. It is amazing what cats can do, and you have such a variety of cats to amaze you daily.

The easiest way to combat the 'black hole' problem, is to put the annoying little things (like jug lids, spare batteries, battery covers [the things you pop off to put the batteries in], etc) and store them all in socks. Doesn't mean that they won't end up in black holes, but at least they'll all disappear at the same time. Simplifies shopping so that you can replace them all at the same time.

house leprechauns.
our house is known for taking stuff, but never throwing it back.
things disappear so fast it's impossible for them to have been lost that quickly.
i've had guests complain about it.

what i really love is the stuff that manifests that no one bought.like a couple cat toys.we have no idea where they came from.
there's some people that won't come back needless to say.

LOL, cute discussion Elic. Guess we all have that black hole one way or the other. Mine is suppose to be a nice safe place where i put things & then half the time have to look for them. At least y'all have the cats to blame, lol. I can't blame anyone but myself.

We frequently find small things in strange places, and I belive that is 9 times more likely to happen at your house.

cause I have more cats?
but the cats weren't anywhere around when this thing popped out
in fact, one time Maggie and I were sitting some place and we heard a sound and from under an appliance rolled out something. Even the cats looked surprised (and we only had like 4 at the time.)

Did you ask the cats how that lid got in the black hole?

I think you should interrogate the cats...
they're messing with your mind again.

Well, see, that's the thing with cats and black holes...
How do you think they manage to teleport themselves in the blink of an eye?
Remember Felix the Cat? He was always pulling them out of his back pocket to effect a quick getaway.
