Is it wrong to ask God for financial help? I don't know how I am supposed to feel. I just came out of a really bad time in my life.. I was doing horrible things and it was damaging my marriage horribly..Part of the reason why was where I worked the atmosphere was wrong the people were "not good" in a light way to put it... and we just figured it was the best thing for me... So I quit to be a stay at home mom and wife, and ever since our marriage is wonderful. We actually smile.. but my husband is very stressed because we have trouble paying things.. So I have resorted to praying even more than usuall and asking for help. Is this wrong?

It is not wrong to ask for help for anything from God, but it is the way you ask for the help that may create the problem..... Make sure you always pray for the intention that his will be done and not selfishly..... I am not saying you have been praying this way but I know God helps in unexpected ways.... It may not be by actually planting a money tree in your yard but his will will be done however you pray...

Maybe you should pray more on relieving your husbands stress and less about the money..... Like I said he may then get a better job, promotion or anything....

If you want God to give you increase, get into His word so you'll learn what His will is for your life, then be obedient to His word. God wants to bless you, but it's necessary that you do what He says. If you obey God, He will empower you to gain success, or in other words, He will bless you. Don't listen to people who speak negatively about increase. Believe God.

Praying is good. I see nothing wrong with asking for help. The important thing when praying, though, is not to get so involved with the problem that you are no longer open to solutions. Listening is really the greater part of prayer and the 'answer' to prayers about financial problems is quite unlikely to be the mysterious appearance of a packet of money through your letterbox! "God helps those who help themselves" is a well-worn saying but it is true that, once you have taken all the logical and obvious steps to live within your income, prayer is likely to help you see and open new doors. God really does give us all that we need before we ask for it but it is up to us to see what is offered and what prayer can do is to help us recognise what is already there on the table in front of us.

I don't think it is wrong to ask God for anything unless it is to do harm to someone else.

It is not wrong to ask God for financial help. You could ask for the wisdom in managing your money, to perhaps give you insight to find a way to make money while staying at home if you want to be a stay at home mum or even a stay at home wife when there are no children. Often if you ask God for help, the Holy Spirit will give you an ability to see savings in what you never thought as so even if you do not get a job (rather hard to get one if you are desperate because many employers see the sign of desperation as a bad thing), you can still come out ahead.

LillyBelleDaisyRose, Just why do you think that it is wrong to ask God for financial help in the first place? I am sure He will provide and care for all of us, just as He has been doing to this day. So, just trust Him with all your cares and concerns. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). Take care and have a nice day.

i see nothing wrong with it, you are asking god, your angels and guides for help. it may not be straight away the help comes but keep asking. i'm even asking money to help me out, and have been doing it for a while.

Hi. LillyBelleDaisyRose. No. I see nothing wrong with you asking for help. In the Bible it states, Seek and ye will find. We are instructed to ask God for help of any kind. He wants us to trust and believe in him and his sanctified word. This makes him very pleased. It is good to ask and believe in God. Who other would be perfect for us to lean on then God himself?? I chose to be a stay at home mother for many reasons. Many people that know me don't understand why, but God and I know why and that is all that matters.

I don't think it is wrong to ask GOd for help in times of need no matter what that need is. God doesn't want us to be suffering in any manner and if we need help with finances its normal and okay to ask GOd for help and guidance. I have done that and he has answered in small ways. Not grand me winning 100,000 lottery but a unexpected 20 check here and there. Its okay to ask GOd for help.

that is a good way to ask help. I believe that He will hear your pray and answer it. but one thing that you have to do is make an effort to. it would be a perfect combination to get help

Don't ask God! Alot of times when we need him he will not help us! Look into filing bankrutcy. Look into getting help from your church,if you belong to one. Get finacial help from a legit place to have you lower your payments on some of your bills and work on just doing one big payment a month! Do anything but asking God! He rather ignore us then help us!

god will help the people who help herself.besides asking god for financial help, you should try your best to find another job.whatever the job is and how low the salary is.if you have a little salary, the money your family earn would be better.your husband would feel better.blessings!

I dont think asking God for help is bad at all or wrong for that matter. But i think it is wrong to fully rely on him bout financial matter too. For example you pray for better job and then God may give it to you , then you have to work hard for you to be payed well too. God dont give money instantly he wants us to do something bout it. He wants us to work hard for whatever it is that we want in life. But to solely rely on God bout financial woes my friend is wrong...

It is not wrong, becuase God is the source of all things and we can ask and he will give as he sees fit and useful for us. How does God gives is the question we ask? God gives by normal human means therefore we have to work and od all things possible and honestly and he will give e.g. plentiful harvest, payrise, or help for friends.

Lilly, I also pray for more money. I need it and Jesus said Ask and you shall receive... Go ahead, ask for it!

If you are asking for financial help because of the fact that you are trying to live outside your natural means, then I really don't think that it is right to ask God for financial help. However, if you are asking for financial help because of the fact that there are legitimate struggles that your family is facing, I don't think that there is anything at all with asking God for financial help in your life.

Praying to God for financial prosperity isn't wrong at all. What makes it wrong is when you keep on praying for financial help from Him and yet you are doing nothing for you to achieve it. I always pray to God for financial prosperity and for Him to guide me to attain it. God knows our needs and desires. He knows our cries. If He sees that what you are praying is really needed, He'd grant it. It may not be right at the moment you need/want it, but He certainly has His ways of answering our prayers.

I don't think so, that's the most thing people always asked God for, am sure.

It's not wrong to ask God for financial help. You are supposed to bring all your troubles to him, He wants you to come to Him. I don't know that I would pray to win the Lottery, but I would certainly bring my troubles regarding finances to the Lord. He will provide, just remember, it may not be in the way you want.
