Hello people! This new discussion is to talk about your attitude: are you often disapointed of your work? When i'm drawing, creating a figurine or building websites, i'm often disapointed of the results. The results i imagined in my head is always munch better than the real results. Even when people say it is very good, in my head, it always is: hm, not so good, i can do better. (But generally, i can't lol). Even if I build the same thing that another people, it is often their work that seems better than mine... Are there some people here who are like me?

Yes, I'm disappointed at the place where I work. I've been there six years, and can't do anything except for being a peon. I've tried to do different things, but I get stonewalled. My boss, who I sometimes have doubts about, has this tendency to train people for bid jobs that are underneath my seniority. I have asked to be train on certain things, but to no avail. I've come to the conclusion, and I have overheard her talking to someone else, that she wasn't going to train me anymore for anything. I know I'm smart and I know I have the talent, but she has her own little picks in that factory and she is only going to have certain people to do certain things and not care how fair it is. So, as bad as I hate to say, I have a don't care attitude about the place anymore. I'm only there to pay my bills. So, in conclusion, it is real easy to jaded at the place you work at. You don't feel like you can "be all you can be". And, in my case, don't feel like you can be used to your full potential.

Ouch, your boss is so unfair! I'm sorry for you... Maybe a day, she will discover your talent.

My daughter is like that. She is a very good artist and draws wonderful pictures. She does really good anime type drawings and she always thinks that her drawings are terrible. She even rips them up sometimes, which is sad because they are really good. She posts some stuff on the internet and then she is embarrassed even though the feedback she gets is always postive.

I am. as a proof, i've had 4 jobs for 3 years. although i have a 2 long years stay in a company; i also had a "less than 2 months" job. i had resigned from my previous job where i stayed the longest last 2008 and then i went back to school for a change in career. although it was only my parents who had encouraged me to do so, i knew in my heart that eventually i would still leave that company because i am troubled by the way it is being managed. and i hate it mostly if i am against the management. i didn't really had issues before about getting along with my co-workers. i hop from a job to another primarily because i am still seeking what i really wanted to do. and although i choose which company to work for, most of the times i end up just giving a certain job a shot especially when i'm on a pinch, financially. i'm already 27 and everyone around me feels that it's already too late for me, but what can I do? i guess life's a continuous search for me.^_^

As long as we live, nothing is never too late. :) It is good to test many jobs and companies to find the one that can fit us. ^^

I'm a photographer and I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my work. I'll get upset when something doesn't come out like I pictured it in my head. I often think "that could be better." But many people love my artwork. It's a weird feeling to me to have a ton of people praise a picture I only kinda like. But it happens. I think when it's your own work, you're just more critical of it. You are your own worst critic. Maybe we just ask a lot more of ourselves than others do?
