Have you ever heard anyone teach the real truth concerning the Anointing of the Holy Spirit, (or Holy Ghost)? I haven't other than maybe a few little bits and pieces. I find this strange for the simple reason at this point in time the Anointing is the true key to everything. Look at the way Jesus set His true Church up when He sent the Apostles out. Jesus told the Apostles to go into a city and seek out people that believed in Him. They were to stay in this home and teach the people of the home. Keep in mind when Jesus sent them out He gave them the power to heal t5he sick, raise the dead or what ever they needed to do in these homes. Jesus told the Apostles to stay in these homes until they had finished their teaching and then move on to another home. The big question is exactly what did the Apostles teach in these homes? Jesus simply told them to teach what He had taught them. Jesus tried very hard to duplicate Himself in each of the Apostles. Personally I don't believe they all got that message. They saw Jesus as more than they could ever become and that is no what Jesus told them. Keep in mind when the Apostles went into these homes they had the ability to actually show God's mighty power just like Jesus showed it to them and many others. The Apostles could teach by example and not with just words like man does it now. They were to teach the people in the homes how they could do anything the apostles did just like Jesus told them they could do anything He did. This involved teaching the people of the home the real truth concerning the Anointing which was still to come in the future. I do believe the Apostles had the ability to share their powers with the people in the homes until they could be Anointed with the real thing. This is exactly what Jesus did with them. Why did Jesus set His true Church up this way? He did it for several reasons. His entire church was to focus on teaching the real truth concerning the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. The main reason is only through the Anointing would God be able to personally share his wisdom and His mighty power with all man kind. It also removed man from between man kind and God. This eliminated the possibility of mistakes man can make in his teaching. It also took money completely out of the picture. You do it the way Jesus set it up your ministry didn't depend on money like it does now. The way man has it set up now if the money dries up where the people can no longer support the churches most of them would wind up with some banks lock on their doors and their ministries would be dead. I'll stop here but if anyone would like to carry this on I would be happy to. Art

Greetings, I happened to of stopped in and seen your discussion regarding the "The Anointing." I first read the discussions which were already said, and some was right on the money, so to speak. Then I went to my Bible on both passages, the sending out of the disciples and chapter 10 in Acts, pretty much did a quick detail research. I will comment on the passage you had started with first. In more than one place in the books of the gospel, when Jesus sent out the disciples, He gave them "POWER and AUTHORITY overall demons and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick." This passage is found in Luke 9:1-2, of course, it goes on how Jesus instructed His disciples to enter the houses. Then one of the two words is mentioned again in Matthew 10:1, He gave them "POWER over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases." So I thought I would look up these 3 words, anointed, authority and power, in my Word Wealth to see how they are used in these passages, although in your discussion the term anointing is being used instead of anointed, but I hope to show they are equally important. I'm sure we are aware that Jesus Christ, according to Isaiah 61:1, that He was indeed the promised anointed one. And indeed the Holy Spirit came down in a form of a dove on Jesus Christ and recieved the power of the Holy Spirit to empower Him for His ministry. So when it came time for Jesus to send out His disciples He delegated the SAME power and authority to them that He had, not from a second Holy Spirit. There is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit one and the same. I also want to mentioned that Jesus only instructed His disciples to go into the jewish community not to any gentile homes. Now I would like to go to the book of Acts chapter 10. Now about Acts chapter 1o, let me explain the reasons behind these two mens vision. I took upon myself to read the whole chapter along with my foot notes. In the beginning of chapter 10 it mentions cornelius vision first. There was an angel of God who visit him to inform him of the result of his prayers and alms to God. So the angel of God told Cornelius who he should seek to bring more of the word of God to him and his household and where to find him. So after the angel of God left, Cornelius brought two of his household servants to go find Peter in Joppa and bring him to his home. Now, surely, we are aware that Cornelius was a gentile not a jew but he practice some of the jewish ways to serve the Lord. So here we have Cornelius who had a vision from God on this one day. Then the next day Peter had a vision from God, but not on the same day as Cornelius did. I'm also sure that we are aware that Peter is a jew, not a gentile. So in Peter's vision God was trying to inform him on what was about to happened, the vision came to Peter 3 times and each time to tell him that "what God cleansed you must not call common." What God was trying to get across to Peter is that God shows no partiality. While Peter was still pondering the vision, the two men that Cornelius sent to find him were waiting for him down at the gate, and so it took the Holy Spirit to inform Peter to go down and meet the two men whom have come to seek him. So Peter went down to find out why they came to seek him. Of course, we know he was obedience to the request because it came from God. So Peter's vision was about preaching the gospel to Cornelius and his household whom they were all gentiles. So this means that it doesn't matter who you are the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to be preached to everyone who will hear. This points out very clear that there is indeed only one Holy Spirit who empowers us believers to perform God's work even as of today and forever. Indeed without the Holy Spirit we cannot accomplish the Lord's work. I have also heard that some churches don't believe that the Holy Spirit existed today but He still does whether they think so or not. True anointing only comes from the Holy Spirit, this is why we so need to be spirit filled men and women in this society and government today. I hope I have shown some light concerning the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Have a blessed day.
