That is a different approach and a good one. The more you think positive the better for you then worrying. Worrying can cause diseases to manifest in your body.

Hi lelin, thanks so much for sharing. the more we are aware of it the more we become careful. At time we may think that everything is okay with our body without knowing it that it is already at its worst, especially if we don't feel any symptoms or pain. It really pays off to have an annual check-up or to under go test to ensure everything is okay. Remember prevention is better than cure. Thanks again.

I have to say thank you for posting this info. Many women dont ever realize that there is a problem till its too late. As a ovarian cancer survivor I can say that sometimes even the symptoms dont show up till its too late. Had my daughter not jumped on me causing a growth to rupture sending me to the hospital I never would have known. There is a test you can get done now that will tell you if you have the markers in your blood for ovarian cancer. The only down side is that its very expensive and most insurance companies do not cover the test. I would recommend that every woman get it done regardless of the cost. Its the best way to be prepared.
Once again thanks for posting this info.

You are quite welcomed and I'm so happy you found out before it was to late. What I don't understand is why would insurance companies not cover a test that could save so many. Just goes to show how insurance companies don't care about us at all. They only care about money.

Thank you for posting this. It's good to know these things. It's all very interesting, especially that last one about taking oral contraceptives to reduce the risk factor of Ovarian Cancer. I sure didn't know that. I took oral contraceptives for several years but I don't remember how many. This was before my hysterectomy and I took them because I had endometriosis.

Your welcome. I hope you are in good health now. I had heard about the oral contraceptives years ago and I'm happy that I had taken them for awhile, for both preventing pregnancy and then going thru pre-menapause.

Can oral contraceptives really prevent ovarian cancer? I used to take contraceptives, but I stopped because someone told me that it could later make it difficult for me to get pregnant. Do you know if this is true? Thanks for informing us about the symptoms of cancer. I bet other women here wouldn't be so happy because now they would be paranoid and keep thinking that they have the symptoms.

I guess it could be difficult depending on how long you were taking the contraceptives. You would have to ask a professional about that. I know once I had my two girls I started on the contraceptives and took them for a long time. Then I stopped and started again when I was started with premenapausal. It helped control heavy bleeding. Now I'm free and clear of periods and contraceptives and very happy.
