Five students were sent home yesterday for committing a vile offense, wearing American Flag T-shirts to school. Yup, yesterday was Cinco De Mayo and these three students, one of whom is half-Mexican, chose to wear American flag T-shirts. The principal called them into his office, scolded them, told them their attire was offensive to Mexicans, and sent them home. Is anyone else sick of the anti-American attitudes that are becoming more and more common in our public school system? Why can't students be proud of their country? Must we only be proud of neighboring countries now?

This further demonstrates how anti-American our schools have become. We are expected to honor every nationality and every religion but our own.
If these Mexican-Americans are going to be offended by the American flag, then by all means strip them of their citizenship and ship their sorry assses back to Mexico.
It is way past time to do a purge of the anti-American eelments of our school system as well, and get all of these William Ayers types away from our kids.

Good for them boys. Standing up for whats right. They have the right to be proud of their heritage and if that means wearing there Flag when they choose then so be it. They did nothing wrong other than show support of their country. Good for them. I am saddened that the school would do something that is so brazen and underhanded. Telling them to remove their American flag shirts in an American school. I bet the school would be singing a different tune if all of their government funding was suddenly cut off. I bet it would remind them that our colors don't run and that its those colors that in the end ultimatly pay for them to do their jobs.

Again, I admit that America is not perfect, but having an Anti-American attitude will not make this county better. Also, what is wrong with wearing the American Flag on your chest? Okay, seriously if people hate America so much, then here is my solution. Move! Go to a different country, or find ways to make this country better. Also I have seen other countries, and this country is not so bad compared to many others. Again, I know that America is not perfect, but it isn't all that bad. These boys were just expressing how they feel. Of course, being that I am a California, I love Cinco de Mayo, and yes I did get my Margarita and my Enchiladas yesterday. I did not get my Tamales. I wasn't too happy about that. I wanted some Tamales. Those are good. Anyway, these should not have had the book thrown at them for expressing how they feel.

Today's a Mexican holiday, but we're not Mexico. That principal and all those kids talking about how today is a Mexican holiday seem to have forgotten that fact. If you want everyone else in your school to honor your country's holiday, go back to your country of origin (which, in those kids cases, is probably America).

I wonder why the school is even celebrating the Mexican independence day. This isn't Mexico and those students are Americans. I don't celebrate Russian holidays and frankly, I've never heard of any schools celebrating Canada Day and we all know there are no shortage of Canadians here. I'm just baffled at how a public school can punish celebrating America while endorsing a celebration of another country.

The "St." might be a clue...
I'm all for celebrating Kwanzaa and punishing any moron wearing a santa shirt and trying to start a race war!

I've been sick of it for years. It's no wonder more & more families are opting out of the GICs (Government Indoctrination Centers...you know, "schools"...), & home-schooling, instead! Of course, the GICs are starting to realize this, & are lobbying to have any alternatives to their messed-up system. Soon, we'll have to fight for all that, too! Grrr!

This infuriates me! Why would anyone who wasn't Mexican want to recognize the holiday? I know most schools, or at least a few around here do have lunch where they make different dishes, but I've never heard of them having a problem with what any of the kids wear. I think that is silly! AND for it to bother some of the hispanics is silly as well. Leave the kids alone and let them wear their t-shirts! Nothing wrong with them wearing those flag T-shirts! MEXICO is NOT their country; AMERICA is! Let them be proud of it. And I love it that one of those kids was half-Mexican. What is this telling those Mexicans who ARE citizens of America?

I'm so confused.
Okay, uberPC phucks. You can hate America. We won't throw you out. You can want social justice on a massive scale. You can continue to treat all minorities as unintelligent, can't-do-for-themselves victims of a white man's world. You can disagree with any and every traditional American value. You can even go home and burn a flag and wear a Mao t-shirt with a Che hat and stand in your yard holding a rifle and singing revolution songs.
No doubt you'll find many other places in the world not tolerating such nonsense, Mr. Dumbphuck. But you can do that here.
What you shouldn't be able to do, however, is indoctrinate kids with utter horsesht (not related to this discussion... but maybe?) and punish them for actually having more feeling for their country as kids than you do as a full grown, supposedly educated man.
And on the real, if Mexicans are offended by America's flag, LEAVE. What? Oh, we're supposed to be compassionate to people coming here that don't even like the f'n country? Why exactly are they here then?
But I think it's more this principle who's offended and truly believes this crap about America ceasing to be America and working solely to make all people feel as good about themselves as they can possibly feel.
No, they won't learn any skills in life. They won't know sht. They'll probably need prozac and lithium the first time someone yells at them. But they'll be some tolerant, out-of-their-way-to-not-offend little b@stards.

I saw this on the news I tell you what it never ceases to amaze me how ridiculous some people can be. Thank god the school board and those higher up in the chain do not agree with the principals actions at all. Kudos to those kids for showing American pride

No way? That's totally unbelievable..sent home for wearing their country's t shirts? If they live in the US I don't see the big deal. Sounds like someone's trying to make something of nothing. Have we really become that dense?

I dont know about all of you, but this contry is gettin torn to bits. How did it come to this? dude this is effed up, i cant believe they were sent home. i mean really, come on, these teachers or princable, and even the school board has got to have more brians than this. i wouldve marched back in there and filed a law suit, or something. This is america. and we dont have to celebrate anything we dont want to. the mexicans can do what ever they want, (as long as they are citezens) . people come on, the constitution and the decloration of independence that our forfathers created, that formed america, it says "we the people", if were gonna stop any of this we need to take a serious look at our selves. wheres the love? wheres jesus? god? we need to ask them for help, serious help, and forgiveness. only we can change it.
