I wanted to tell you I enjoy seeing you have a MJ avatar. I am glad to see he is in others thoughts. I miss his influence in the world. I have just moved and the landlady seems nice enough. She is alittle ditzy but I think that is because she is busy with a business plus doing this. We will see I guess.

Thanks,my land lord is busy too. He's an artchitect,so he's always away most of the time. He's pretty nice but he doesn't seem to keep his promises of improving something. He goes away on business trips.I'm happy that he allows my dog here,it's hard to find a place that allows dogs.So I won't be moving for that reason.

There are huge deposits here for dogs. Ugh! Very rarely do you find a place that doesn't.

Most places here where I live always ask for a bigger security deposit if you have a dog.My landlord didn't.It's hard to find a landlord that won't charge.I looked at a few other apartments, those landlords wanted a bigger deposit. The one wanted $400.00 more. That's too much, and another wanted $200.00 per month added to the rent. They're crazy.I thought I could find someone who won't charge me extra.

Hi Java: One of my aunts is what I calll an if person. She would love to do things but there is always an IF situation that doesn't let her to do what she want to do. I think that we must take risks and not wait for the future or for "beter opportunities" we can build our own future. Thanks for asking us this question. Hope you are having a nice day.
ALVARO.

Most states have landlord-tenant laws that protect you from landlord abuse. For instance, if your water heater is broken or something else needs fixing he is obligated to fix it or you can legally withold your rent--check your state's laws to see how to properly go about this and still be protected. Don't put up with landlord abuse!
This is why I won't be a landlord--too much maintenance and trouble and I don't like to mistreat people because of my own incompetence!

If it were somehting important to fix, like plumbing for example then I would report the guy.He promises to make improvments and doesn't follow up on it.He shouldn't say things he's not gonna do.what keeps me here is he allows my dog. It's hard to find a place that allows one. Thanks

Our landlord isn't the one who deals with the tenants - it's the managers. They live below and across from us . . . and they are the sweetest people (to us anyway). Apparently they were new to the building too when we moved in - we were "their" first tenants. Some of our neighbors have nothing but bad things to say about them, but they always take care of us pretty quickly. I email them in the morning and then they forward the note to the office . . . and then they get back to me. They tell me when our maintenance guy is going to come . . . and I admit sometimes he doesn't - but he'll come the next day. Our maintenance guy works hard and we often chat with him - so we know him pretty well - so we'll "excuse" it if he can't make it that day as there's usually a good reason. That being said, I have to mention that our landlord is also married to a friend of mine . . . and we didn't know that until after we moved in . . . really, we don't get special privileges!
