What is your opinion of Wallie's World?

I used to really like Walmart. I liked the clothes and that I could buy my groceries in the same place. I even liked the quality. Recently I heard about a class action that is regarding some women that were mistreated and tossed aside when it came to some promotions they should have gotten. One said she was told she should be home with her children and let the men work. Can you believe it?! What is your take on Walmart? Do you go there? I don't anymore.

I dont go often as for the products are mostly from China and very poor quality. When ya pay $50 for a electric skillet with teflon on it you do think you should get more service out of it than 4 times cooking in it and it sticks your food to the bottom!!! Snd late ly the clothes dont fit as well as they did poor workman ship for sure. ANd they shouldnbt treat their women employs like this! One thing we go is just for the bread it has been the freashed lately too

I do not like going to Walmart, but it and 1 other store are all that we have in our little town. I wish I could go somewhere else to get my things I would. It use to be a good store but not anymore. It was after the owner passed away all they care about is making a quick dollar. I went in the local Walmart yesterday and noticed that the prices they are putting on there brand of food is higher then the name brand items and that is bad.

I wish you could too. I would really like to find a way to boycott them. I go to Winco for food.

celticeagle thats horrible for anyone to say to a woman employee, and they should darned well be ashamed of themselves. I have to shop there because of the lower prices but I do not have to l ike the way some employees are treated but again its not the walmart company itself that as fault but the jerk mangagers and the way they treat the employees under them.

Hey celtic! I have heard the same thing that Walmart is "allegedly" against promoting women employees and is descriminating against them! If I knew that this was true, I personally wouldn't ever shop there again! I already can barely stand that disgusting store! I only go there once in awhle if I need something that I really know will be cheaper there! And even then I hate that store! The closest one that is near me is one city up and it doesn't have a full "food department" and it's not open 24/7! You can never find anyone to help you in any department ever! You are totally on your own! If you do happen to fine a "customer service person" it is purely by accident! And even then you are lucky if the can help you and if you talk to them they will tell you too how much they hate working there! How sad is that!

I used to shop there exclusively but not anymore. I will now start going way out almost out of town to Kmart and shop there. I have been hearing these stories for years but thought they were the same sort of stories you hear at most so I didn't take them seriously and it was closer than Kmart that I used to always go to. Now, after the article and peice on the news I saw recently I will not go there but to use the five dollar gift card I got in the mail.

I hate going to Wal-mart because the one here is always a madhouse. I avoid it at all costs. I do sometimes have to go but I dread it when I do.

Like I said in my first comment above, I only go to Walmart when I have to and when I feel like it. It tires me out to think about even going there. The Walmart we have here is like a madhouse, too! People just run out in front of you and don't say "excuse me" whatsoever. It seems like every little aisle you start to go down, there is always somebody there in the way and everybody is just in their own little world!

I like Walmart but I only go there when I have to. I dread going there a lot because it's so crowded just about all the time. In fact, the nearest Walmart store is about 5 minutes from where I live. It seems like I remember hearing something about these women being mistreated and that's not right. Some women have to work to help make ends meet. That didn't have any effect on me shopping there, though.

Alot of women have to work to make ends meet and it is very archaic for someone to say they need to be home. That decade is long past.

Maybe I'm a little old fashioned but I agree that the woman's place is in the home. At the same time, I don't condone any woman who does work because I've worked a lot of jobs, myself. I'm not married and I never have had any kids to look after and that makes a difference. Like I said, there are a lot of women who do have to work, especially in this day and age. I imagine it was probably men who treated these women this way and they shouldn't have done it.

I love wal-mart! Who is to say they "should" of gotten the promotions they wanted? How do we know they truely deserved them? How do you know they aren't people who go throw a piss storm cause they don't get what they want? One of the co-managers at the store I go to is a women. How can walmart and every walmart be held accountable for the stores who messed up.. if thats what they did. Why would you stop shopping at your local because of those select stores? In the big big picture of Wal-mart, as a big corporation, promotes equalness when it comes to promoting people(women & men). Wouldn't it be stupid just to hire a women because shes a women, or the person that actually deserves the job. Just sayin. Now if it came down tothe face that someone overlook a women that actually deserved the job and overlooked her.. that dude should be fired. I got a 12 pack of double rolled toilet paper for $4 Yesterday. YEAH!!! *calms down* i love unbeatable rollback prices.

I used to love Walmart too! I cannot justify being a customer of a store that treats its employees this way. I don't go by just this story. I have heard several things down through the years of how badly some of their employees are treated. This was just the straw that broke the camel's back! Just like I won't go to Target anymore because of what they did. If this is the only way I can feel I am helping then that is what I will do. If other people can know this type of thing is being let happen in this company and still go there and buy their products then that it very sad and I am sorry to see that some are just not as responsible and forthright.
