How To "Fix" The Pesto Sauce?

I love Pesto and I got some from Trader Joe's and it's absolutely nasty. I've never had a bad-tasting Pesto sauce before. Does anyone have any ideas how I can improve the flavor? It also needs to be more saucy, it's kind of chunky and on the dry side. Help!

I make my own pesto every summer and freeze it to use all year. It´s unexpensive and my grandkids love spaguetti and pesto with a lot of regianitto cheese. I make it easy: put in the blender lots for fresh basil, garlic and olive oil. I blend all that and keep it in small plastic bags the can be thrown away. I don´t add salt or any extras although you can put some salt when you serve it. Its better when just made (as everything) but in my country you can get basil only in summer. I don´t like pestos made with other herbs. I feel it´s not the real thing. Take care!

I used to get the best pesto sauce from this little italian place just up the road. That location closed and I had to go clear across town to the main one but it was well worth it! Add alittle stock from whatever you are fixing with it. Add cheese as a topper. Yum!
