Hi blue, I used to be really into them back in the day. They helped me to furnish my first apartment pretty cheaply. Then when the kids were young you just could not beat the prices for kid's clothes and toys. I even got a lot of my own clothes at yard sales. I used to love meeting up with my friend and grabbing a coffee and spending the morning travelling around to see what treasures we might find for dirt cheap. After a while it just kind of lost its magic on me. I have to admit that I have not been in years and no desire to. I'm not sure why. I dated a man a few years back that spent all summer long going to yard sales and in the winter, he made a living by selling all the stuff on e-bay for way more than what he paid for it.

I actually am thinking of getting into that this summer. It is a great way to make a little extra cash and who couldn't use that these days. I just put a car on craigs list and have lots of interested people. It's kind of a cool way to get rid of stuff and earn money at the same time.

I like garage sales, flea markets, second hand shops and similar things, and I think it is fun to look at the stuff that people are selling. I use pictures from old magazines in my art, and I am always looking for magazines when I visit a garage sale. Sometimes I manage to find a pile of old magazines that I can use, and I usually get a discount if I buy the entire box. I also like to look at other things like clothes, furniture or books, I don't buy a lot of those things, but I enjoy looking at them.

Those things aren't for me! My mom loved rummage sales and thrift shops! I have been to a flea market and that wasn't so bad. I did fine somethings I liked. I hate looking through clothes! I have found books at used book stores the last few years. That I like doing!

My grandmother lives in a senior community and every year they have yard sales. It is great because older people have really nice things for sale that they have kept nice and they put them out VERY cheap. I even bought a very nice painting done by one of the women there for $10. Everything from old picture frames, books, jars, knick knacks etc. I like vintage and old stuff I even found a great big old suitcase for $2 that I just love. I brought back tons of stuff this past sale and this one woman who was a neighbor of my grandma's had out Tanqueray and Bacardi unopened for less than half the store price so I grabbed those up (not many other people who drink within the senior community so no one had bought them). Plus once the day got on and people were ready to pack it in I got great deals from people who just wanted to get rid of the stuff so they had less to put away. I was carry out boxes of stuff. I even got a silver tea serving set for $2! Another lady was selling all of her Beanie Baby collection for $2 a toy. They were in perfect condition with the little plastic things over the tags. I was wishing I had brought more money! So yes, as you can see I love a good yard sale!

I do sell things at a rummage sale. I don't hold it and never will do something like that! Anyway I have friends who's landlord has a rummage sale every first weekend (it started this month) of the month and runs through the fall. Last year I sold some collector plates, some cd's and a few other things. I made a nice amount of money! This year I am selling a tv,some cd's and some clothes. I just don't like going to rummage sales myself! It isn't for me!

Yes, I love garage sales, and car boot sales. There is always something you like that you can buy very cheaply. Sometimes you can find valuable items that cost pennies in the sale. Thank you for reminding me about them though, I'm going to ask my mum to take me to one on the weekend now. =P

I love going to garage, rummage, yard sales. In my area so many towns have a week end sale. Park your vehicle and walk around a block, then move to another area and walk a round another block. I don't do as much as i used to. My arthritis is getting worse, but i hope not to miss too many. I have found so many things and now grandchildren. This makes play clothing reasonable for the fast growing children.

Hello, Yes I to am a great lover of boot sales and garage sales. It's a nice way to pass the time and buy a few bargains. At least you dont get pressurize by any sales-person who doesn't know what they are talking about and is only looking for a quick sale. You can always pick up a really good bargain and you can also find items that you may have been looking for but shops no longer sell. I do have a question for yourself and fellow myLotters who are reading this. If you see a really expensive item and you know it's worth far more than the seller is asking do you tell them. What I mean by this is, if the seller has no idea of what they have, lets just say it's an old lady selling a laptop. Would you be honest an offer more ?

I hate going to rummage sales and garage sales! They aren't for me and never have been! If I am looking for computer ware I get it from my brother. He is a computer programmer and gets computers, laptops and montiors for nothing! So I and other family members get free stuff when we needed it!

I like garage sales, although i've only been to 2. I bought some cool stuff like an antique clock and some old school guitar straps. It's sad though that It's not held here too often.
