This is crazy! A mother leaves her child in the hot car while she attempts to find work. Why not take the child with you? Florida has begun being tougher on crimes against children. Now the poor child still pays the from being removed from her mothers care who left her in the car. Why can people just use common sense? You do not leave a child in a car unattended for any period of time no matter what the intentions are! The child is doing good but this could of ended in a fatality. I would of broken the window myself because the child's life was at stake. Thoughts? http://cbs4.com/local/Child.Car.Hot.2.1700935.html

I don't understand why parents do it either, especially when the child is really young. It's not that difficult to just bring the child with you. It's true that it is annoying to have to unbuckle your child, bring him/her with you, and all of that. But it's about the safety of the child.

I know you can bring your child to when you are seeking for a job. Why she chose to leave the child in a car is a mystery thus far. Another reason why if you are not ready to care for children you should use due care to not be n the position of having children.

In Florida there is tropical weather so it would be hot on most days I imagine. In a moving car a driver and passengers could stay cool if the car that they are traveling on has air conditioning. If a car parks in a car park under the hot sun then the car could get very hot inside. I have heard dogs can die in a hot car. The mom was trying to find a job and once she gets a job she will be likely to pay for child care. She probably wished she had left her child with a child minder rather than in the car. She had no idea of how hot it gets in a parked car under the hot sun. If a mom has two children and her baby girl is asleep in the car she might leave her for one minute to collect her toddler girl from nursery school. She would ensure that her car in within her sight. She would have the air conditioning left on. If the toddler daughter wasn't ready she would go back to her car to be with her baby daughter. She would be likely to have to take her sleeping baby out of her car. In my home country in the winter it is cold so it might be possible to leave a child in the car for one minute say to collect a sibling or go to the toilet. In the summer a child shouldn't be left in the car for any reason. Child care should be provided for job seeking moms in Florida.

I am sure she had no idea it would get that hot but in the same token why would she trust society to make sure her child is okay while she seeks a job. Leaving a child unattended and alone to care for itself is a not correct either for any reason. I agree that child care or something needs to be in place for job seekers but the budget is not allocated for such actions. Now she is in hot water with legal problems that may result in jail time or prison time, fines and possibly losing her child forever.

It's about time that these idiot people who call themselves parents get caught for this. I don't know how many articles I've come across where people are leaving not only their own children but animals in rediculously hot vehicles. Like find a babysitter or ask a relative to watch them for the day I"m sure they would do it?? Take care

Definitely I agree with you find a person to help you, a friend, a family member, or someone you trust. I mean you were going to work force , they allow children there to be with you. Sad.

Some people should not be parents! That is so incredibly wrong to leave your child in a car like that. Especially when they are only 18 months old! I once knew of a guy who came across a locked car with a baby inside. He waited for a while and then smashed a window to get the child out. He then took the child to a nearby police station where the mother turned up a bit later in a panic about her child being kidnapped. She wanted to charge the guy with kidnapping and damaging her car. I am not sure what happened to the guy or the mother as I only heard this story third hand from the employer of the guy who took the child out. They were wondering why he was taking so long on his lunch break from work!

How can a mother left her child in the car under the hot sun. If she switch on the car aircondition is still being acceptable I think. Just imagine your child being put in the hot car for few hours? That I cannot accept it. May be she think that she just away for awhile, but for me even if you leave your child for 1 min out of your vision, anything can happen. Like my son, he was once playing with his bicycle just like normal, but when I just turn with my back to him, suddently I heard he is crying very loudly. Guess what? He was fell down and with an inch of scar on his head with lots of blood coming out from the scar. So can we leave our child without our supervision? I say NO!

There is no way under no circumstance could I ever leave a child unattended in a car-- even to run in a store and out. I just cannot believe how common this is in today's world. Florida made it a crime to leave a child in a car unattended because it was happening so frequent. I just cannot beleive that any person can forget a child. There are other cases that put the icing on the cake. I found this other link that is appalling as well. See the link below: http://badbreeders.net/tag/kid-in-car/

If you will go to the department store and in all public places, you will see warnings to the effect that you should not leave your things unattended. How much more your own child? I don't know what went in her mind. Is her child some sort of a doll with no feelings! I am also a mother and I will never forgive myself if anything bad happens to my children because of my negligence and feeblemindedness. If I really need to do something important, I will leave my children to my family or trusted friend. If I can't find someone who will look after my children, then let all the repercussions be with me for neglecting my obligations. I will never sacrifice the safety of my children because they are my life and their lives depend on me being a worthy mother!

I cannot begin to understand what was going through her mind at that point. I mean what was the logic in doing something like that. Your child comes first period. End of story. Again, at least the child turned out to be okay in the end. She needs a reality check and checklist to mark off every time she does something. Its crazy.

Seeing her age, I am sure she did not think of the consequences that could come with that. It is not an excuse, she needs to be held responsible. I hope that they do something to help her become more responsible, even if her life is in shambles and she needs a job.

it is really silly to do something like that. have they never heard of children dying in conditions like this. she prob didnt take the child with her because someone people can be prejudiced about hiring people with kids they may think that if they have to bring their kid along to look for a job how will they manage when they get a job. They should have left their kid with a friend

I know it sounds like she was oblivious to these circumstance and what could happen to her child. I am glad she was searching for a job but she should of taken her child in with her. It is that simple. now both are going to be distraught and severed from each others affection and love. it is sad how children ultimately pay the price of adults actions. Maybe they should have courses that state your child is not to be left in a car or it is a crime punishable by jail and or fines. Common sense thinking.

utterly ridiculus . how could this be possible . a mother leaving her own child inside car? the poor child copuld be left in a crush or play schoool . why in a car ? criminals get created due to these actions. cops should punish her with loneliness

This has happened so much in Florida that it is a crime to leave a child unattended in a vehicle now. I just cannot see how anyone can forget a child. I know life can be strenuous but leaving a child behind in a car I cannot see. No matter how the scenario goes the child is still paying the price for an adults actions. That is sad and preventable.

Oh I am not saying she should not be held responsible for this act of carelessness. She should. I just feel bad for this child that is going through a lot right now and has no one that this child knows. I am still in disbelief that people still do this after all that has happened they still do this crap out their. The poor baby that was helpless, bad judgment but the child is still here after all this mess.
