Is it your work? Your children? Chocolate? What one thing makes life enjoyable and worthwhile for you? And why.

All of those things! Mainly my kids, of course, but I also love my friends, my hobbies, reading, writing, going to the theatre, watching films, my pets and much more. So I wake up each day and have a good mix of things I have to do and things I want to do, which I believe is important to get this balance right.

I certainly do, I am rarely bored. I especially enjoy day trips and weekends away. We have been to London recently and to Birmingham to watch the European Gymnastics Championships.

My family. They are the biggest support in my life and encouragement too. They make me go further. And without them my life would have been a real mess.

Thank you there for the best response, I believe if you have someone who loves you around you this is enough of a reason to make someone go further on his/her path.

It is my children which keeps me going and should I say, which makes my world go round. I have six children with ages ranging from 9 to 13. They are all so sweet and caring and loving. I just can't express my feeling when each of them would come to me and quietly hug me and goes back to play. I can't imagine how happy can a mother be if she have the sweetest children on earth.

The belief that all this will be mine, free and clear, and I will be retired with a steady income. I'm almost 52 1/2. At 55, everything will be mine and I can start having an constant state retirement income. 2 1/2 more years to hand in there.

It's been one heck of a struggle so far. Yes, Social Security says 68 2/3 years for full benefits, but 62 for early if sickly or whatever for me. That's one good thing about working for the State of NY, early retirement is 55 and you don't have to prove health problems. The average age of people who used to do my line of work to die was (probably still is 55). The state wants to change it to 65, Unions and people are fighting it. Will probably change to 60.

It isn't just one thing. It's a lot of things lumped together. It's all the various things that make me happy. My children, chocolate, nature, music, art, friends, reading, animals, love (eventually), adventure, etc.

Music keeps me going all the time. I don't know what I would do without it. I listen to it a lot, especially in the car. I've always loved musci and I'm a musician, anyway. I sing, play the guitar, piano, and the harmonica. I majored in voice when I was in college. Everyday when I first wake up, I log on to youtube and find a song I would like to hear that I haven't heard in years! I also love horseback riding. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't do this. I've ridden all my life pretty much. If I ended up disabled in any way, I would probably still ride. I volunteer at a therapeutic riding center where we teach children and adults with disabilities how to ride horseback. It used to be thought that people with disabilities couldn't ride horseback but I'm so glad that has changed. The look on the faces of these children while they are riding a horse is so heartwarming.

Yes, music is something to enjoy. I go through cycles where I listen alot and then I don't for a while. I used to do alot of horseback riding when younger but now I haven't for years. Volunteering and sharing something like this must be very gratifying.

Having important people in your life is important. People that expect things from you and give things to you. That is as it should be.

That is a good question, but for me it isnt my job, or my car, or anything like that. The one thing that really keeps me going is the strive to bigger and better things everyday. To gain more knowledge and experience in life. I like the idea of using everyday I have to make myself a better person and push myself to get over the next hurdle that life throws at me. I have been knocked down by life so many times, but I have gotten to the point of accepting that everything happens for a reason and makes me a better person for getting through it. So I keep pushing myself and working towards what I want to get out of life and it keeps me driven towards my ultimate goals.

Those hurdles are fun. So are you one of the fate and karma believers? Keep on pushing!
