To be a liar you have to be a good liar

Ya, a liar had to have a quick mind and good memory. People who lie also have big egos and lie to maintain what they think they have to. It isn't worth it. Life is too short and people usually see it for what it is at some point. It is a choice we all make on a daily basis. If we start with those little white lies to stay cool it only grows.

I am a horrible liar, so I don't do it often. I have a friend that says things that amaze me, and she doesn't seem to care if someone knows she is lying or not. I guess that is the key, acting like you don't care. I get too nervous and always think the other person knows I am lying. My sister-in-law used to lie all the time. It was like it was a habit with her. She lied about everything, but the one thing I remember was she said they sent mice to the moon and dressed them in little space suits. I thought that was SOO funny! She was serious!

Are all these lies actually lies? Particularly about one liking or disliking another person; couldn't that change from one moment to the next? or maybe the person who dislikes a person needs something from him (or her) and so decided to break their vow of silence to get what they need or want. Did that person with the license say they were getting their license after you asked for a ride? Would saying no to you be more difficult than saying they need to get a license first? I never consider anything said to me as truth until I have more research. And then it can be actually just be that person's opinion, or what they know at that time they are talking to me. It's no big deal to me. Did you hear about the trouble the police have with eyewitnesses? Not all the stories jive with each other, and it is usually not because they are lying. They are just reporting what their own senses experienced, as best as their memories allow. And memories don't work like .wav or any other kind of computer file. They are reconstructed every time they are recalled, and details can get lost or even modified during the process. And yes, there are dishonest people who for whatever reason do not want to tell you the "truth" as best as they see it, for whatever reason they have. Some are better than others, and I'm relatively sure I'm one of the failures.

my ex husband believed his own lies,he believed them so much he probably would've passed a lie detector test,i myself don't believe my lies,but i am good at it,i don't lie about anything important,just little minor things,like if i've over spent i'll tell my boyfriend that an extra bill went out of my account and need a bit of extra cash to pay the phone bill,and i don't lie very often,i'm generally an honest person

Politicians are bad liars. I never believe anything they say, yet they sure believe themselves lol. One of my brother and my sister are such liars and I used to confront them but it would turn into a fight, so now I just lay the phone down and keep saying huh-huh, pretending to listen to the lies. I used to not mind so much but now I have no patience with liars. They take up my breathing air!!

Hahaha. Good liars are those who have callous conscience.

We had one living with us for 3 years glad hge moved but still comes around for he is family to daughters hubby grrrrrrrrrr

Hi Jugsjugs, I am no good at lying but do miss bits out the most memerable lie I ever told or miss bit out one weas when I was a teenage and my mum asked who was at the youth club, I honestly listed everyone who was there but missed out the boys name she didn't like me seeing. lol. Not only does this person lie but they are very short in the memory department. It's one of the big faults with lies, it's hard to remember who you told what to.

I try not to lie because of the fact that one lie will breed another lie and that will breed yet another lie. When you start the snowball of lying, there is no way to get out of it and there is also a great chance that you aren't going to be able to keep your stories straight. This is the main reason, in my opinion that there is no one that really is a good lier because as much as they may try, they are eventually going to confuse their story.

I'm sure glad you started this discussion. Some liars I wouldn't call stupid. I've seen these kinds of liars. 1) I've seen people who lie to try to get out of trouble. I understand why they lie. 2) There are those who hear false information from others and act like they got the information themselves, like someone who says an accident happened as if they saw the accident but they were nowhere near the accident. And then there's 3) people who really believe what they lie about. I've seen two people like this and I say they are crazy. They are good at what they do and there's no reason for them lying!!! My ex gilfriend once told me that I had a job interview so I got dressed and went to an interview I didn't have. Another time she convince me and a girl that we liked each other when we didn't. I say she's crazy because she is very talented and once made good money from interior decorating. Now she has a lotion business and seems to get bored and although making money, she stops. I stopped dealing with her when she had me do a website for her business, we had many meetings together, and then she didn't have the money to pay me after I finished the site. She doesn't have money because she stopped making the lotions! So this past November, she ran for City Council and came in third! Out of ten people.

I believe to be a good liar you must be really good in making story so others will believe it. I am never be a good liar because you will spot it my eye and I don't feel comfort to lie. but I did it too sometimes when my friend want to visit my house and I am not in the mood in accept guest, I will tell them I wanna go or something like that to avoid their come.

We know that we have to be good in whatever we do. Unfortunately there are people who believe that they have to be good in lying as well, for whatever personal agendas they have. I think just like anything we do it takes practice and lots of practice to perfect it. That's why sometimes it's easy to detect a lie in someone than in somebody else. Some people are so good at it that a lie may seem as the truth while the truth may be seen as otherwise. Such may be seen in a court of law. Professional liars or rather people who cheat by lying in order to sell or market their goods or to swindle money out of others could convince themselves so well that probably a lie detector could not detect it either but by themselves as you have cleverly put it "to apply for a licence". Whatever it is lying does not pay. Time will reveal the truth!

Even is not something to be proud of I have to admit that I am one of the best liars you could met. When I tell a lie I'm trying to believe it and I fake it untill I make it. Beside this no one can lie to me because they get caught immediatly.. you can't lie a liar, can you ? Despite this my lies are harmless and inofensive without making any problems to anyone and I don't lie in an important situation for example.

Most people do not have good enough memories to remember what lies they told to whom. That is why they get caught out...

there are times you really have to tell a lie because you have to make things better. but it doesn't mean you are a liar. there are times you have to tell the truth when you just want is to have a better relationship or keep the relationship working. but in the end, you will just lose and break the relationship. sometimes, you will blame yourself for being honest and thought to stay a good liar than be honest, for you to keep the relationship. and keep the lies secret until the last breath you will have.

This is well said, if we do not know how to lie then we better not try to else we can find ourselves in a great problem. Lies will be found no matter how much we try to hide it so its better to do not lie at all.

I think the more that people have to tell a lie, the better they get at it. They may be seen as good liars. In acuality, they have just mastered the art of deception. Anyone can tell a lie. to be a good liar, you have to believe you own misdeeds.

Whenever I've done wrong or lied to my MOM, I would always have this back up plan( means to cover my lies with another lie) so that I don't get caught easily.

the days of ram and harishchandra is over,truth goes out through the window and lie sits on a hot spot so dear i think lie or die is the mantra of 21st century.
