A Question I've Never Heard: Why Do Good Things Happen to Bad People?

I've heard over and over "Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People??" It made me answer, "Probably the same reason why good things happen to bad people." Have you ever thought against the grain? What other opposite thinking questions are out there? And feel free to answer any of these if you have one! :*) So.. why do good things happen to bad people?

True. There is osmething to say for being rewarded for hard work. And wuite honestly, I think that we have different views of good tihngs and bad things. Something that happens to me might seem sgood to me and look like bad in my life to you. It's quite a sliding scale.

Well, personally I think overall this is a question we may never know. I think personally no one is in control of what happens to them, or when. In reality for the most part it is God. He is the one sometimes who chooses to send Good things to people, especially the Bad ones hoping somehow something that happens will wake them up and want to change for the better. Many times we have to go thru the storms of life to appreciate and change.

Because God is a loving Father to us He doesn't let anyone else suffer so much from bad things despite of being a sinner.

I also agree that God loves us so much that he gives his own Son to save us and God's own Son suffered for the sins we have done in life and I think most probably God want everyone to live happily and peaceful in life.

It is we who classify things happening as good or bad at the time of happening. But in due course,a good thing can turn out to be bad or vice versa. But answering straightly,a tiger or lion which may come face to face with you will not inquire, whether you are vegetarian or non vegetarian. In other words, why should people eat those poor chicken which don't do any harm to them?!

"Why do good things happen to bad people?" It indeed is a good question. This happens only when God wants to give a long rope to a bad person so he might hang himself with it. Likewise, bad things happen to good people because God wants to nudge them to the right direction.

Hang himself and go where? Straight to heaven…and towards what are the good people nudged? Lifetime of struggle and drudgery? Actually, when we think of such things, its really very very confusing…so many people are born so rich and they squander money like dust (they need not even lift a pin for that) yet there’s so much poverty all around. Its not that the poor don’t work hard or are not honest or bad people, yet why do they suffer so much? Or then, should we practice renunciation? Then why are we here if not to enjoy life and nature and God’s bounty… or then should the rich think of themselves as cursed or blessed and vice versa for the poor

I also wonder why good things happen to bad people. I think most probably it must be only for short period of time. I always seen that movie ends well and likewise good things do happen to good people and bad things do happen to bad people at the end of life. I think most probably it must be something with life and most probably everything will get well after some time.

You're right, that's one question that has been asked a lot times already. But, who are we to question that? God has plans for us and he certainly has plans for good people. All we have to do is to trust Him and we will never go wrong.

Hi Bearballew, It's just how life is. No one is ALL good or ALL bad. I will say that the ones that are more good usually tend to have more people by their side and willing to help them out through the bad times than their not-so-good counterparts. At least that's how it seems.

A lot of people ask "Why me?" when something bad happens to them. Why don't they ask "Why not me?" Why should bad things only happen to other people? Now to try to answer your question. "Why do good things happen to bad people?" Matthew 5:45 (New International Version) 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. It seems that at this time, God is not partial.

This life is very limited, in the grand scheme of things. In the end, God decides where you go forever. So, the bad people can live it up and not repent, but they won't have those good things in the after life. Life is about choices and deciding where you want to go when you die. God tests people. To see if they will use their resources for good or just to be selfish. I know I have a few opposite questions, but I can't think of one at the moment.

When I had my bookstore back in the 80s, we had a book titled "When Bad Things Happen To Good People". I never did read it but I kind of wish I had now. It might have been a good read. Because I'm a christian, I think the reason why bad things happen to good people is because it might be God's way of testing them. I think everything happens for a reason.

Now, that is a great way of asking this, but I must admit that it is not anything that I have actually thought about or questioned in the past. I can throw out one hypothesis, but it is strictly a hypothesis and not anything more than that. My thought is that possibly the good people are the more pessimistic people and see things bad as happening to them whereas a not so good person is more of the person that sees the glass as being half full.

Before I was really asking those questions but now I realized that the reason why good things happen to them is nobody's testing their faith to God.Bad people are just like grass, they were too green when it is rainy days but they easily die when the rainy days passed.

i often wonder this myself too. ive seen people who do bad things good happen to them, things will fall into place with them. well the good people who do good have nothing but bad things happen to them but at least when you are good and do the right things, you know on judgement day will come you are going to heaven. and i'm a beliver that for the good people it will come back around sooner or later

I think good and bad are degrees of point of view. A bad person may have good things happen, but the goodness of those things may only be in the point of view. Many bad people appear to be rich, but being rich may be good only from a point of view. I have know many rich, unhappy people. Life is full of lessons for us all and life is different for each of us.

It is a question I have asked myself many times in fact I wrote an article a while back aptly titled “Why do bad things happen to good people” and while researching the piece and looking at the different perspectives from Christians to Buddhists. I found the Buddhist’s concept of Karma a very feasible one. If we have all lived before, we may have karma to repay from other lives which would explain a lot of the injustices in the world. I am not a Buddhist and the Christian concepts are very logical too but to me, Karma is the only thing that makes sense for the unfair suffering that befalls a lot of innocent people in their present lifetime. Having said that though, I don’t have a definite answer; it is still a mystery to me how the Universe works along with the pattern of our lives.

Yes many times. But even good things happens to them. There are always a catch. One must prepare themselves for the exact opposite of good luck. That's what I believe it. what do you think?

may be good things always happen to bad person but in a short run but when you see a long run good people are always rewarded thats why its said its easy to be ba but is it that hard to be good.
