When I have a bad headache the first thing I usually do is go to bed and take a nap. But if you can't sleep then just rest and relax on your bed. It would be great if you have some scented oil to help you relax and calm your senses.

Black coffee will help your blood circulate freely as it will expand your vein a little, and together, a little massage at your forehead will do the trick. Pain killers will not cause kidney problem as you will not be taking this for long.

If you do not have headaches often, some acetaminophen or aspirin or ibuprofen is okay. It is important to know why you have headaches if you have them often. They can be migraines or allergy/sinus headaches. They can be from bad teeth or jaw clenching. Tension causes headaches. I find that I have fewer headaches, and most of them not bad since I started taking a magnesium supplement, as directed on the bottle. It is also good for your bones. Sometimes I will get a headache from not having had as much caffeine as my body is used to, then I drink coffee. Hot packs and cold packs are remedies that are often used. You can also get a headache from lack of sleep. Then you just need to go to bed and catch up. Some people look for acupressure points, and rub those. I will use aromatic oils, like lavender and tea tree together and that sometimes helps as well.

Healthy kidneys won't have a problem with painkillers. You should always take pills with a full glass of water to help with that problem as well. Also one shouldn't take pain killers all the time.
I get really bad headaches sometimes that regular painkillers won't cure. My doctor gave me migraine pills for those but the pills are expensive and put me to sleep so I don't like taking them. I try a hot shower first. Often that relaxes the tightening in my head. Also a little caffeine (tho caffeine isn't healthy it often does the trick). I'll dim the lights and put a cool towel on my head. Also I'll drink a full glass of water as often my headaches are just a sign of dehydration. If it's a headache from sinuses, I take an allergy pill. It all depends on the type of headache...

Frquent pain killers are injurious to health kirthi. However, if it is unbearable we have no choice. Try and find out the reason for your headache--did you go out in the hot sun?Did you skip a meal? Did you cry? Were you far too tense?Did you have a fight with someone? DID you eat something oily? Was there any indigestion?--Once you know the reason you can try and avoid it in future. OnE rare pain killer would not harm you.If it is frquent get your eyes tested.
Another remedy is to have some Amrutanjan applied on your forehead and drawing the curtaiNS and going to sleep.

Drink something with alot of caffine in it and place something warm (either a towel or a heating bag) on your forehead. The caffine will cause the blood vessels in your brain to expand allowing the blood to flow more freely and the heat will draw the blood to that area thus reducing your headache. Also if you do not take pain killers often or in large quantity, an occasional asprin should not hurt your kidneys, unless you already have some type of kidney disease.
