What would you do if you woke up to find that you lost all of your memory?

Imagine you wake up the morning. You forgot your name. You don't know where you are. What would you do? Who would call? Would you explore the home you're in and look for clues ad try to piece them together to find out who you are? Would you go the emergency room? Or would you cherish in the new life you now have and start over?

Do I have to loss all my memory? Because I'd love to loss some and feel that certain people in my life are not really my relatives..lol
Actually, it probably would scare me, to not know who I am..Especially if my husband is in my face demanding that I am just saying this to be mean..

I meant that as in, they really are my relatives, but I don't feel they are because I lost my memory..In other words, I'd like to get rid of some relatives out of my life..

Wouldn't we all want to get rid of the pesky relatives in our lives?

That would be really funny to think that some people are your relatives then they really aren't. LOL.

If I don't have my memory, who would I think to call...What are the police...this would be very scary for me I think.
I would probably start asking a thousand questions at a mile a second, and pray for answers. I would also probably believe whatever the people I was around at this time told me, because I would not know any better, the people in my life at this time would probably take me to the hospital...
Such a hard thing to think to of, I will be more detailed if ever it happens to me, except I won't remember this post....
Sincerely and With Appreciation.

That would be a problem--not knowing what the police are, because that's who you usually call in an emergency.

I have called the police once in my entire life. For others not even myself, and it was preventative, not even an emergency. But you are right, that is who we would usually call...except...what is a call...what is a phone...how do you use it...

I love mysteries. It makes life more exiting.
(And like answering your discussions by the way. Such "thoughts beyond imaginations" you have there...^_^)
I see "memory loss" in two ways....
1 as a chance to start over again and while you're still on it, you could start making your wrong things right and begin to experience a better life worth more living.
2 a very tiresome and pitiful situation where you are clueless of what's happening around you. Having no name can attract bad persons to use you in their bad intentions.

Aw. Thank you. I try to create discussions that thought provoking, so there is actually a discussion. (:
Yeah, you'd be like a child again. But then again, how could you make wrong things right when you don't remember what you did wrong? I'd probably make the same mistakes again.

You're right. Why didn't I think of that.....ahehe
It's true you couldn't make wrong things right when you don't remember anything you did wrong...ahaha
Anyway, nevermind. just stay away from having "memory loss". It will only hunt you down and give you headaches...^_^

That would be terrible, not to remember anything, God forbid! The first thing I would do is to go over documents that I find in the house like birth certificates, etc. I will open my bag, take a look at my ID, match it with the face in the mirror and then I should start putting all the pieces together slowly.

Well if this does happen I guess I would spend the first fifteen minutes pinching myself just to get a hold on whether that is a dream or reality. then only will i go on and explore the place. As for cherishing it? Of course, for there are no better way to start a life anew. Ever have moments that you would just utter 'if only that didn't happen and I can start over again'? well your wish just came true.. Cheers.

Would you even think it was a joke if you don't remember anything at all?

That would be a scary situation. But then again, I won't know if it would scary because I do not know what is happening. I heard these kinds of stories before. But, I have never seen a person who experience this though.

It would be sad though. People you love would be shunned since you won't know them entirely. But, I hope we do not experience this thing.

Yeah, you wouldn't know if was scary. I don't think you'd know anything for that matter. You might not even know you lived before. Creepy, isn't it?

Some years ago I was involved in an accident. I got a concussion and I lost my memory for a while. It was very scary, I didn't know where to go and where what to do and I didn't recognize my surroundings. I was walking around in the streets hoping to find something that I could recognize, but it all seemed strange and unfamiliar. After half an hour my memory returned and I was able to call my doctor.
If I woke up and discovered that I had lost my memory I would probably look through the rooms in the house and see if I could find things like a wallet, a cell phone, a calender, some diaries or some photo albums. It would be a scary situation, and I still remember how I felt after my concussion, but I would try to find some information in the house, and hopefully I would be able to figure out who I was and what happened.

Oh my! I hope that never happens to you again! Why did that happen?
That's a good idea. You wouldn't lose your ability to walk or eat?

If I am an Egyptian pharaoh who got an amnesia and sent to Mexico, I'd probably start the Aztec empire but since I'm not, what I will do is to not think about whatever bothers me like who I am and where's my family but just continue living my life. I keep the faith that someday someone from my family will eventually find me. I'll treat life like a dream that doesn't have to be a nightmare.

because all my memory is gone, i wouldn't know if i should be sad about everything that i've lost & forgotten, or should i be happy at a potentially different & brighter future..
but one thing i do know, rediscovering myself would be a darn interesting adventure indeed!

I think I'll try very hard to remember anything about me. If I can't remember anything then I don't know. I'll just walk somewhere and hopefully something along the way will help me remember anything.

I think if i woke up one day and didn't know who i was, I would try to get help for it, I would find things around me and talk to as may people as possible to try and figure out where my family was and who i am supposed to be. if i was told i would never regain my memory, i would make the most of it. i believe everything happens for a reason and if God put me in that situation, he has a plan for me.

Obviously if I have lost my memory I wouldn't know who to call. I would explore the house and rapidly discover that I was home alone with a small child. It wouldn't take me to long to realize what my name was, my purse being easily findable with my drivers license in it and by using the list of phone numbers on the desk near my phone I could get myself some assistance. Honestly anyone who suddenly realizes they don't know who they are is going to be scared, having a Medical check up would be common procedure in such cases. Obviously I would keep moving forward with my life no matter what, but I would always be looking for clues about myself until and unless my memory came back.

Well that a very hard situation to deal with. In such situation either you got bankrupt or your whole money is steal. But whatever many be the situation or how much shocking may it be but still you have to go out for you bread and butter. But you have to realize why your money is missing and how to deal with the situation so that you don't have to face it again in the future.

I think the first thing I will do if that will happen to me is to ask my self, well that's the common thing to do when people got amnesia, they always ask many things since they can't remember anything.
After asking my self a question I guess my own self will search for something I know, something that I still remember and I think when my self saw people that live in the house I stayed in my self will surely ask them for information that may help me regain my memory, if my self found out that those people are giving me attention and worrying in my condition my self will definitely trust those people.
I think you notice that I use the word "my self" well I'm considering that my self with amnesia is not me anymore but I trust my own deep personality that it can handle some situation like that.
I just wish when that happen to me, when I lost my memory, I still fall in love with the same girl.
