Parents are immune from rules...

In our local park there is a fenced off play area with sponge matting and swings and the like for children to play in. There is a sign up asking people not to let their dogs into the area. I see dogs in there all the time but they are with the parents of children using the swings. Not once ever have I seen a non-parent take a dog in there. There are now complaints about dog poop in the area (and we are supposed to scoop anywhere in the park, not just the play area) but wardens deliberately avoid confronting a parent with a dog in that area. I've seen them ignore dogs in the area when they belong to a parent but go over to people who's dogs are well away from the area and give them a lecture. Anyone have a clue what that is about?

First of all parents should be a role model for their children. PERIOD! Because they are spoken to they feel they are resilliant and that the rules do not pertain to them. This is sad. I would go to another park or talk to these 'wardens' and see what the deal is. Either the rules pertain to everyone or the list of rules should be taken down.

My guess and this is just a guess, a parent with a child is like a Mother Bear with her Cub. Many start screaming bloody murder if you try to repremand them in front of their child. If you try to say anything to them at all. I've seen this in volunteer organizations. Kids aren't supposed to do something, but if a parent volunteers, you can't get that parent to listen to reason at all.

none but if you lodge complaints they will have to act. They should not be in there, thats disgusting and meant for smaller children.
