Why do you think working at home is better than your day job?

Do you think working at home is better than your current day job? I do. I am really getting tired and sick of my day job. There is no variety in my day job. Each day, monotously, I am doing the same job for almost 3 years already. There is no excitement in my job. I would rather stay at home, write a good book and make money from it than site infront of my office computer doing drawings and plans. Hopefully I could find a career in writing and hopefully soon. I am getting closer and closer to 27 everyday, and I plan to have a family. Having a home job would be a very ideal for me because I plan to be a hand-on mother and wife. How about you guys? What are your thoughts about working at home and working in a day job?

I feel the same thing too well basically when working home you have control of your time and the effort that you will be putting in your job at least your the boss of your own company lol so at is seems because your just in the comfort of your own home. But at the same time it doesnt mean you can slack off or just be content with an average performance you should still strive to be the best that you can be even if your just working at home. That will make you even more productive and efficient at the same time as well. Have a great day and happy mylotting!

Very well said. Doing something you like and something you love doing makes a person even more productive. I guess that goes well with any kind of job. If a person is happy on what he does, it does not matter where he works. He will be productive and creative because he loves what he does.

You should always be thankful if you have a job. It does not mean that even if you do the same routine over and over again, it would be a burden already. Anyway as what I do know, if you are happy with what you do even for a measly paycheck you will still be okey with it as long as you have a regular pay on a monthly basis. Having a job online as a part time is also good because you can do your work and at the same time attend to your daily chores and attending to your child. But earning online is not that easy, you need to wait for your labor plus the fact that it will never be constant on what you earn. If you really are good on such a particular strength of work like programming, article writing and such, this will be more advantageous for you, although this depends only for a project basis so the earning potential is unknown yet.

Hi Joiemarvic! Actually it is not really whether it is a day job or a a work at home but it is how you are enjoying the job. If your day job is kind of boring to you then that will really make you think of alternative. In my case my regular job is always exciting so in my more than 25 years stay in this office I've never really thought of leaving this job. But of course, when I retire I would love to have something to do at home to and this is the reason why I am doing online jobs when I have free time. Nowadays, I am enjoying my blog. I'm not earning from it but I do enjoy it. I hope someday I'd earn from it too but I really have not yet explored the means of earning from it.

Hi salonga. I have not been around Mylot for quite sometime. Happy to see you responding in my discussions. It's true I am bored and tired with my job and the company I work at. Another thing is, I would really want to pursue a career in writing, my first love. I was wrong to think that money is the top thing that counts in a job. Personal satisfaction should be the primary factor in choosing a job.

Ho Joie Marvic: I think you are right because, working at home would give me the sensation of being more free and at the same time it's so truth this statement that says that there's no place like home. When you're home you feel that you have almost everything for feeling happy and there's the fact that you would be your own boss. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

A good working environment brings out the best in any person. My home is my own personal sanctuary. I could work more productively and creatively at home rather than in a office wherein you need to please a lot of people and constantly deal with office politics.Have a nice day too.

Hi Night shroud: I agree with you. If you find a job that you really love this would mean that you'll have the kind of excitement you need in your life so you'll be really comfortabole doing what you do. I hope this would be my case when I started working. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

If you are sick and tired of your day job and can't seem to find something exciting or interesting to motivate you to work, you might find that working at home is the same thing. It is harder to motivate yourself in doing your work since you find it hard to find the motivation to work in your day job.

I rather work at home then deal with people at my job too. I work in a hospital and sit at a desk all day and registering patients. I rather sit at home and do surveys and respond to discusisons making money then dealing with Ignorant and rude people all day long. I been at my job for 5 yrs. Soon as I'm done with my college degree i'm looking for another job..

It’s day job for me. I prefer day job instead of working at home. I feel bored at home. Home is not a place to work for others. I do less work if it’s done from home. You can say that I am not very productive when working from home so I choose to work for employer from their premises.

I feel the same way about my regular job i go too every day. I'm hoping someday i can do fulltime Internet Marketing from Home and not come to work at a specific time each day. I've been working hard for most of my life and i haven't saved a whole lot of money, because you are usually set at a budget amount each month or by the week. I'm working hard at learning Internet Marketing and getting very skilled and hopefully someday i will retire and have Residual Income and able to spend more time with Family and keep collecting an income as i get away with Family. So, there is a lot to learn and be successful if you put your mind to accomplsh your Goals for the Long Haul.

for me working home is my best day job income because i can work and manage my on time based by project. but the hard part is my income is not stabil , it based how many project i have to achieve in a month. in other word my income is like an index kurs grapfic, sometimes up sometimes down...in other case most people don't like their job in a company because they don't like it either the system or the job desk but working at a company makes my income stabil. every month i got an income for sure. but working in a company is not my style, i don't like the system and the day time job, it makes me tired and stressing because it is not the job i i liked it and the job is not my specialized.

I guess the only pro for working at home is that time is flexible, and you can do anything at your own time own target. But at work, you're rushed by your boss with deadlines and assignments to complete, so it might be a little bit different. But the thing is working at home is more likely less than a day job, so I prefer a day job.. after all, money = stability.

Hi JOIEMARVIC, for people who need to take care of their family it's better to work from home. Thus they could take care of their family and earn daily expenses at the same time. They don't have to wake up early in the morning to get all the routine readied in a rush before leaving for the office. No office attires are needed as well. Moreover they could save a lot in traveling expenses too I have my husband's sister to take care of our family therefore I prefer to have my day job in the office. I enjoy the office life as I could chat as well as have fun with my colleagues during office hours. I could concentrate fully on my office work and nothing could distract me as I'm from home. I feel refreshed as well while seeing different people doing different thing traveling on the way to work Happy posting!

I have always been self-employed and usually worked in my home, except for a time of about 15 years or so when I was a professional musician and used to travel to various clubs playing piano both solo and with bands. Yes, it is the far better than having to go to an office or other place of work. _Derek

i think it really depends of the kind of work or job you may have a home. if you are really a good writer, then you should go for it. and talking about being a wife and mother, i still prefer a stay-at-home rather than a career wife.

for a mom like me, i think working at home is better than any day job; simply because you can be a mom and earn money at the same time. i used to have a day job, but i also need to hire a nanny to take care of my children and the household as well. so my earnings eventually go to pay these people who take care of my children. that is why i decided to quit and find alternatives to earn in order to help my husband with the expenses.
