Cream of mushroom soup

Does anyone else here hates cream of mushroom soup? I tried few times but I couldn't take the smell and the taste. It tastes so "foul" to me...sorry I dunno how to describe it :( is there anything else that can be added on it to make tastes nicer?

I have to ask how old you are? When I was a kid my mom could never get me to eat Cream of Mushroom soup and I still won't eat it plain, although I do use it in recipes to make things that add flavor to it like tuna casserole, chicken divan and Pork chops with mushroom gravy. You might want to try adding some hamburger and worchestershire sauce or cheese to it. Those make it more palatable for me. Cheese is always a quick fix for anything that's a little difficult to deal with (unless you don't like cheese, either) and you can add it to your bowl without putting it in the pot for all. That way those who like it without don't have to have it with. :) Hope this helps.

bytheway...the reason I asked your age is that sometimes our taste changes as we age. When I was a kid I would never touch a bell pepper but now it's one of my favorite veggies.

okay...you're still young enough. You may develop a taste for it yet. Lol!! I'm 52 and my taste is still changing as I age. I was around your age when my bell pepper change came. My mom used to use cheese to try and get me to eat broccoli and cauliflower but she could never get it past my nose! heehee...but in soups, it melts and you don't even notice the part that bothers you.

Wow a very good tips of yours! I love cheese, and ummmmph...tuna casserole and pork chops are some of my favourite food! Now I'm getting hungry hehe...trouble! I'm 25 by the way. I never really chose or care about what to eat when I was a kid.

mmmm..sounds like cream of mushroom soup is so tasty to you. do you have it a lot? how the food was prepared could be very important to me sometimes, but if i was very hungry, then i will just grab it with no question. but i still can't do it with cream of mushroom soup :-(

I have only tasted 1 cream of mushroom. And it is from Pizza Hut. I think its fine. I don't smell the "foul" smell you are referring to. Maybe it depends on how it was prepared.

Pizza Hut serves mushroom soup? I never knew that, but yeah that's good. You are probably right as it is depends on how it was prepared. One of my friend did ask me if it was canned or fresh? I had no idea...
I do eat mushroom but only the wild one. I live in a small village where my mum would go around our farm very early in the morning to pick mushrooms that grow wildly on trees....plus they are smaller and thinner :))
