Hi myloters did you know that your star is colored depending on your reputation which you can see if you go over your star. You get better reputation if you get many + ratings from users. Can anyone please write the whole reputation/color ladder for users so we can all see it? I spotted a partial ladder in a discussion once but i lost track of it. Do you think it's good to get reputation from other member's input? How many of you actually give +/- signs? Please respond, good luck to you all!

hello slovenc1, Being here for a while and haven't reading the Mylot Faq haven't we? The star is a ladder of reputation. it gives actually a certain earning factor on how you do things in mylot. I didn't give a damn about the stars before until i lost my old account and made a new one. The stars reflect on how much can you earn, if you have the lowest stars from 1 to 6, you're chances of earning is lessen. about the rating system. here's the rule on that. not a referral link. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx most precisely.. What if I disagree with someone? Should I give that post a negative rating? Absolutely not! In fact, if you disagree with a post, but still feel it positively contributes to the discussion, you should rate it positively. Rating quality content negatively will hurt your ratings overall. Remember differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions. so don't go out there rating (-) as if you're harmless to it. be a good lotter and people will rate you nicely. Yes, our reputation (stars) does affect the earnings.

I was merely asking a question so don't take it as an offense. the color scale is different from one to 10. and ten, which is blue is the highest. Just let them be, if they rate you or not. just don't get into topics or discussions that causes people debates, and might unruly rate you (-) i know because i lost a lot of points when i got engage into political discussions. if i have offended in anyway, i apologize. just remember my advice.

Knight i read the faq many times now and been on the page you gave me but if you read more carefully i wanted to know the star color scale which i can't find anywhere. And don't know why you felt the need to point out i shouldn't rate with - as if i ever did that. I might not be happy that you treated me as if i didn't read faq when i actually wanted to point out the importance of rating to others because many never rate. But that doesn't mean i'll give you -, i gave you plus. So do you know how the color scale goes? Thanks for your comment, it's sad that even if you do your best you still won't be rated buy many myloters

Nicely explained letran, thank you. I have read the FGAQ's but I think people d understand a member's explanation rather more than 'mylot speak'!!

A long time ago for some time I had a blue star with a 10 but now I have a red one with a nine. With almost 3600 posts I don't think it will change anytime soon if ever since it seems to me that if you have a lot of posts it is very hard to change your star color and number.

Probably is harder to change it with more posts. I remember having better scores and level and everything when i first started but it soon went down not because i did something wrong but because people didn't agree with me and probably rated me with -. Anyway your reputation is 93/100 and i think 95 means blue star so i'll give you a plus, hope you reach the best color soon. Thanks for your contribution, have a great day

Hi there. I actually don't have any idea what's the relevance of my star's color and what its impact is to my life. Can you please give me a brief idea? Do you believe in astrology? I get so curious when it comes to these things.

Aww I'm sorry. So you are actually pertaining to the star beside the name here in mylot. Actually I really don't have an idea but more or less it has something to do with the number of discussions that you have responded.

I would also like to know (I'm probably the only one who doesn't) what the number next to my name means? This is all very interesting to me and I hope it gets explained in full detail. Thanks.

Hi, I'm new here so I would like to ask a question relating to this topic. How do we see our star and reputation? I don't see any on my profile or anything. Is it because people have not started giving me ratings? Thanks! Sorry if this is a bit off the topic.

It's not really of the topic actually most replies were off but i can help you with your question. You can't see it yet because you haven't reached the number 100. If i'm correct you get a star when you reach 100 and i think the number means how many discussion you answered to. I see your comments are good and you should get a star in no time so keep up the good work Gave you +, have a great day!

I'm not really sure what the ladder colors are or in what order it goes. I don't think it really matters what color star you have as long as you post good discussions, respond with good answers, stay friendly, respect the rules, and make friends. Yes I do rate every discussion with a plus sign. It's because I am interested in what that person has to say and I consider it a good article. I don't answer discussions that I'm not interested in or have nothing to good to offer, just to make a few cents. I'm not here for that. I'm here to enjoy everyone's company. Take care now.

I had no Idea about the stars colors and I now see that you get your first star after 100 posts? and then once you reach 500 or is it 5000 posts you can post a picture along with your topic and responses? I rat every topic I respond to in a positive way, I would really like to know my rating or at least if anyone has rated me for anything yet ha ha ha. well now I can't wait to hit 100 to see a star :-)

I've always wondered what the color and number in the star symbolizes but I've never asked this question earlier. Would like to see the full list of it. Guess mine's red now with an 8 in it. Wonder what that means??

Well yellow is better i think so it's a positive mistake. I think the only next better color is blue. I might be wrong but the best one is blue for sure. Thanks for your contribution to discussion

Only this morning, I asked one of my friends what does the star represent? Now, it seems the color is more likely to represent something. Who can tell me what does pinky star represent? And I have 6 in it, when I about to post a response it says Jennyze 60/100, so I guess 6 represents 60. But what about the color? Any one knows? Just like to know who do I belong to? The rudest, the passive, the brilliants, the nice one? he he...

Yeah well since i haven't reached 100 yet... I am about too...so i still don't have the "star" next to my name. I do occasionally give the mark best response and the + sign, I guess I have given about 10 of those so far. Never gave the - sign yet though.

Hmmmm.. I wonder, Slovenc1 you've got a silver/white star with a 7 in it and you got 751 discussions to your credit but your rank in Mylot is 69. Me on the other hand have an 8 and yellow colored star with 170 discussions to my credit but I'm ranked 84. So I'm ranked higher than you? On what basis I wonder???!!!

I think that it is really important that we use the + sign as a sign of good responses (or the - for bad!)
