Moose on the loose !!!!

I know most people think MOOSE when they think about Canada. They seem to think that they're all over the place. Im no spring chicken anymore and Ive never seen one face to face as of yet. Ive only seen pictures of a moose or on tv.
Im watching the news now and they show a moose who was on the loose in the city. I lie in the country, why cant they come here, why go in Montreal of all places?
So they managed to chase the baby (2 yrs old) around Montreal North and finally they could corner it next to Cirque du Soleil and tranquilized it.

At least they didnt shoot it dead.
So, even if you dont live in Canada, have you ever seen a moose face to face?

I live in the UK and I have never seen a moose ever. I am glad that they did not shoot it though and just tranquillised it and then returned it back to it's natural place (I'm assuming!).
Recently I did see a Peacock on the roof of my neighbours house, thought I imagined it at first, then a friend several miles away saw it and sent me a message so it was confirmed that I was not going crazy!

A peacock? Well Ive never seen one of those. Bet he was lovely to look at.
The moose was transported further up north in Mont Tremblant. Its not such a remote place but Im sure he'll be very happy there.

Yeah I know they're HUGE. The woman who saw it said it must have been at least 5 feet tall and its just a kid !!!!! Yours sound very friendly if they try to get close to humans. I dont know anything about them to be honest......but I never heard of anyone being attacked by one, so I guess they're friendly!!
So have you ever petted one then to say Hi back?

I saw a moose, or two face to face last month in the Minnesota Zoo. They looked kind of young and a bit scruffy, but I figure they were possibly shedding winter coats.

I started reading your post and thought you had seen one face to face WITHOUT the bars....he must have been behind bars if it was at the zoo. I didnt know they would shed their coats. Amazing how many things I dont know about an animal that roams freely here......well not in town usually but they do in the forests or whats left of the forests.
