Yes !! I do check twice for date of Expiry whenever i get a medicine from store. Fortunately for me , The Shop owner prints the bill with the Expiry date and lot no , so i have not yet got a problem. I buy medicines from him only , and can vouch for the correctness of the bill as i have been purchasing from him for the past 15 years.

That is very nice to hear that you purchase medicines from one person only and he is a genuine shopkeeper. And the advantage is you get the expiry date printed -which is a new term I am hearing. Good .

That is very nice to note that the expired medicines are filtered at the store itself. This is a total safety to the customer. So we can blindly buy them - how nice it is we are being lessened by one important work.Yes your word is correct as per my knowledge, nothing to worry about that at all. I am confident you are from India as your name indicates. On this happy response - I am adding you as my friend.Hope you will surely accept.

Hear in germany, traders should not sell expired products. they should remove it. So we don't have much problem . But medicines: once if we buy medecines we don't through them. We keep them to use our next sickness. So there are chances to use expired medicines. I keep the medicines in one copuburd. Look them time to time and through them away if they are expired. (I don't know the word 'EXPIRED' is correct. If wrong please let me know.)

Really busybee, expiry date play an essential role in all kind of stuffs especially on edible stuffs as well as medicines. Therefore before purchasing any stuff I would like to read the expiry dates first. I would abandon it in case I couldn't get any expiry date on it. I like stuffs to have both the manufacturing and expiry dates. I always consider it's safe to take medicines and food and drinks which are still within the expiry dates. I am extremely cautious in taking medicine. I'm afraid that medicine or food or drinks which is expired might bring high risk to harm our health especially feeding expired medicine or food to our young toddlers Take care and happy posting

You are most welcome busybee For the sake of saving it's nice and wise for us to check carefully the expiry date before purchasing the goods. Here in my place there are still store owner to keep goods which are expired. Anyway, I always try to get the new arriving goods and they are much fresher. Moreover they wouldn't be expired that fast

I pay more attention to the expiry date more than the manufacturing date. I will look at the expiry date mostly on food, as I really don't want to eat something that has gone bad.

I personally feel that the person who sells the food packs should themselves keep expired stuff away from sales. This reduces our work for checking. Yes, it is nice to hear that before purchasing you surely check for the expiry date.

I am forever looking at dates on all the things that i get.I am also always looking at the dates aswell on the things that are also in the cupboards in my house as i like to use the things that are older first as that way i do not have to throw things away as i think also that people never check the things that they have stored up.If something is out of date then i throw it in the bin, i never use it as you never know whats going to happen.

It is a good thought that you check the important dates and also make a note of the stuff who are nearing to the expiry date - this is a very good way of saving money too and not wasting them throwing away. Nice to note that....

I hardly ever think to check the date when I purchase most medications. However, once I get it home and stored I check it. I really don't use too many medications anyway. But I do occasionally go through everything in the medicine cabinet to see if they have expired or not. A lot of them will not hurt you if they are expired, but they will not be effective either.

You see just because of a small mistake of not checking the expiry of the medicine made your dad to suffer from food poisoning - sorry to hear that. Experience makes a man perfect, hence in this life we have to experience several things to lead a happy and peaceful life. I am so happy to note that after posting this discussion I came across many such problems being faced by so many people - so this says that an expiry date is very important to check.

I also look for the expiry dates of food and medicines. One time, I failed to this and took a medicine that was expired. After several hours, I noticed that I still felt the same and the medicine was not effective. I checked the other tablets remaining and it was expired! Luckily, no other side effects was experienced from the expired medicine. :)
