Had a busy weekend
How about you?
I have over 500 myLot notifications waiting for me, so sorry if it takes me a while to respond to your discussions.
I took Friday off, my intention being to just veg and catch up on laundry, and got surprised with R's family coming over, so instead I was on my feet all day with one thing and another. Saturday was a birthday party for his mom at her place.
Sunday we went to the opera in San Francisco. Faust is my mom's favorite opera and I like it too. Or at least I like some of the music from it that I've listened to on CD.
So anyway we get there, it's a nice old opera house, and I start reading the program. Then I hand it over to R to read the synopsis. And he's already bummed. The story doesn't have a happy ending, you see. He only likes happy endings. That probably says something about him and what I'm dealing with with him, but I digress.
Anyway 'twas beyootiful and afterward we decided to go home via the Golden Gate bridge instead of the bay bridge. We stopped and had dinner at Sausalito, on the water, and got treated to a free show. Some of the people at the bar were pretty frisky, but I digress.
Anyway, the entire way home and at dinner, I was treated to R going on about how he hates sad endings and many parts of the opera were torture and that he was scarred for life. I guess I could call it payback for something, idk.
Anyway, as a reward for avoiding the $4 toll Carcuinez bridge, we ran into traffic going home on the 37. Apparently the entire population of Sacramento was leaving wine country and it took us at least an extra half hour to get home.
So what did you do this weekend?
PS Libby moved out, got her own place, Naomi got her bedroom back. This did not stop her from strewing her things across the newly cleaned family room, btw. And her room is already messy again. Life is back to "normal"?
This concludes the current edition of the Wolfson family newsletter...

Now I know where you've been
I missed you!
You've been busy, busy, I see! And R is scarred for life over an opera - wow!
Let's see. Saturday hubby had to work, so I took the kids to this drum workshop where kids could bang away to their hearts content. Hubby got the kids in the afternoon and I was actually able to shop for a few hours ALL BY MYSELF. When I got back, hubby and daughter got in a swim - and I baked a Father's Day chocolate cake. Hubby ordered some Hawaiian bbq to go - then we had our early Fathers's Day dessert. Sunday we didn't do much until evening. Cleaned up, watched my son roll around (he's rolling like crazy), I don't know what we did with our time. Then we went to my parents for a Father's Day bbq - though we actually celebrated the June birthdays and our late anniversary too. I'm ready for the next weekend already - hee hee!!

He's a roller huh? According to my mom I rolled and went straight to running...
R got a Toblerone, a music card and a soccer shirt from the kids. Was going to make him breakfast but he got up and made waffles. I called my dad later. I sent him something but it won't get there for a few days yet. Bad procrastinating Dawn. :-(

I think my son might do the same - oh help! How funny - my hubby made US a waffle breakfast too! My daughter made him a card in class and hid it - but already gave it to him last Thursday - hee hee. I'd love to take hubby to an opera or musical if I could (savin' that myLot moola). I don't ever know what to get my dad anymore . . . I had my daughter make him a card. I made a Japanese dessert for him as the gift this year - not sure how "authentic" it was nor how good it tasted. I'm sure your dad will be happy that you thought of him - even if it's just a tad late!! Oh - got your pm - yay!!

Hello, Dawn. R needs to get a reality check - but you probably knew that already. Life is comprised of more sad endings than happy endings - we don't live a fairytale, we live life, with all its complications.
I doubt if he's scarred for life - people who are so involved in themselves do not get scarred, they scar other people. I hope that doesn't offend you, as we're good friends, but that's the way I see it.
Why couldn't he just enjoy the evening without putting a damper on it? The ending may have been unhappy, but it sounds like it was a great production. Enjoy what's on offer, that's what I say - even if you don't like the ending.

Had a pretty busy week...Hell Week, if I may say. Projects, reports, presentations and exams piling up. If I could wish for something I wish a day wouldn't consist of only 24 hours but at least 48 hours will do
You got 500 notifications...I got more than 900 and I want to answer or respond to them all but there are things off line that needs to be done

Hi Dawnald... Your life certainly seems to be very busy and full of events... I didn't understand some of the things, as I have not read anything about your family before... But you description of the weekend has made me think that you are a busy person with happening life... That is surely wonderful!!!!

I don't understand the term "scarred for life" when it is being said by someone who has hurt you. I have written here in mylot about my bad relationship and the jerk who left me told me that I have damaged him more. I no longer know what is "normal", but I guess my life now is back to "normal". "Normal" meaning I have to take care of my sick mother, get a job and face uncertainty again.
P.S. My post may seem unconnected to your topic, but please bear with me. I am still not "normal".

I understand it. It's all about a drama queen person who is totally into themselves trying to get you to feel sorry for them.

Roses are red
Carnations are pink
I'm as tired as you
However,my weekend did stink
I did way too much
Now my butt's a dragging
I really should rest
because its a sagging
Spring cleaning is calling
So I do what I must
I'll rest when it's over
my house, void of dust!
But the flowers are planted
The closets are cleaned
the kitchen and bathroom floors,
literally gleam!

It sounds like R has no appreciation for good opera and fancy expecting only a happy ending, not very realistic is he? And now he is scarred for life, the poor thing! You must have had such a lovely time…My weekend was not anywhere near as exciting as yours. We did the usual stuff, chores, dancing lessons, shopping etc; we had lunch at my sister’s and I lost at bowling on the Wii! The next day we visited the markets and came home to veg. 500 notifications? Wow…You’re going to be busy!

Too bad you had an extra half-hour of R's whinging.
Remind me again who Libby is.

Hey Dawny! I am not into opera so won't comment on that! As
for R, still in denial and playing the "whatever" card to bring
in the drama which thankfully isn't working on you! Just hang
in there girlfriend, stay strong for the kids and it will work
out in time! You just have to ignore his "acts of whatever"
and you will be fine!

I just enjoyed the time off work with some around the house enjoyment. I did go out to eat Saturday night but that'a about it. I have been laying around the pool and trying to stay cool...it's really hot and humid here. I guess I am saving it up for the week I will have off for the 4th.
