How creative are you? Do you paint, draw, compose, write? Where do you draw your inspirations from or are you a born natural? Having no such skills myself, please share with me your stories. I would love to see/hear about the things you have created, won a prize for or just simply earned a praise for.

Hey I am not really that creative either, but I like to daydream in my own world. Does that count lol? Otherwise I basically am not the best writer or artist in the world. I've always have like creating art, but everyone is just so superior to what I design.

Hi bluemoonpavilion, I enjoy writing both prose and poetry and have been told that I do a good job. I self-published a book back in 1997 which was sold locally. I have published nearly two hundred stories, poems and articles on the Internet, most through Triond. I cannot write unless I'm inspired and sometimes go through dry spells that make me wonder if I'll ever write again. Other times I may write three stories or poems in one day. Blessings.

Hi pose, it's so nice that you have been so successful. Do you get feedback on your writings? I suppose all writers look for appreciate and recognition for their work. It would be good to receive comments from readers whether they are good or bad. It means a level of recognition.

Hi bluemoonpavilion, I am not really that successful- or that good, but yes I do get quite a bit of feedback which does help keep me going. The best part is that I like doing it. I continue to procrastinate in submitting some of my more recent works to a publisher, which some have been asking me to do. Thank youfor your kind words. Blessings.

Hi pose, keep up with your writings. Procrastination is quite common but keep your words flowing.

I love painting, drawing and writing My drawings are a kind of fantasy pictures, and I like to combine a lot of different things in the same drawing. I use my imagination and when I start I never know how the drawing is going to turn out, I simply start and see what happens. Sometimes I like the result and sometimes the drawing ends in the garbage bin. I paint two different kinds of pictures. Some of my paintings are abstract and some of them are a mixture and paint and paper from old magazines. I usually try to combine the pictures in a funny or unusual way. I am working on a huge painting at the moment. That is a challenge, because most of my other paintings have been much smaller. I write poems and short stories. Many of my poems are based on inspirational or spiritual stories or fairytales. I also write poems about my own experiences or funny poems. I am working on a collection of short stories at the moment, but I am stuck, and it hard for me find the inspiration I need to finish the stories.

I have been asked to paint the huge painting and I am able to choose the colours and the motive myself. I started a while ago, I recently decided to change the motive, and I like the new motive better, but it will take a while before I manage to finish the painting. I use pictures from old magazines and I recently bought a huge pile of old magazines, I hope that I will be able to use some of those pictures. At the moment I don't spend much time on my writing, and it has been a while since I worked on my poems and my stories. When I finish the huge painting I will probably be able to spend more time on writing. I love painting, but I also look forward to continuing with my writing.

I guess sometimes old ideas just develop into new ones, so you are drawing inspiration from the old mags? You paint and you write, so do you find one influencing the other or providing the basis for the other?

Porcospino, you are so so so creative! I love fantasy pictures! If you are combining so many different things in your pictures, it must have a lot of details. I would love to see some of your works. Is there a purpose for the huge painting you are working on? It's also nice to hear you have another talent. Do you paint more or write more?

I would consider myself to be a pretty creative person! I'm not exactly an artist but I feel like I'm able to throw a lot of creativity into projects to balance it out. I am a crafter and absolutely love creating cards with scrapbooking materials. I'm also a jewelry maker. I feel like my creativity really comes out in these types of projects where I can kinda do whatever I want to do! I'm also a teacher. So I feel like my job requires a lot of creativity and allows me to be extremely creative!

All the things that you do are so practical and useful! I suppose you are teaching younger kids so that requires a lot of creativity input from your side.

Boracay - This was the idea from Jacob Lawrence so that kind of painting is actually made from gouache. This was not the whole image as one, I just collaborated the pictures to form in one. I even put this inside the starbucks tumbler wherein you can put your own images as your personal belonging.
I have skills in painting but not that so creative. I mean I am still needing references to paint what I want. Well in painting actually you will need to have references unless if that is a form of abstract. You can see my sample of painting below wherein I used gouache since my cousin gave me a painting materials of Jacob Lawrence. I also have Frida but then never tried it but I am hoping that I could do in as soon as possible. I am actually creative in my own ways like thinking on what to draw then put something sense of humor on that object. I did that before in 3 dimensional animation. As of now I am looking forward to start my portfolio so that I could find a job that is related into 3d modeling since that is actually my dream job. I haven't won any prize but I am dreaming to have those awards that can be also related in 3d. I only earned praises to the extent that someone even asked that I should paint for her then she gave me $10 hahahahaha..... Well I just painted it on a hard paper then she was the one who provided for her own frame.

Thanks for appreciating it :) I haven't started yet my activity in 3d I think I could start my portfolio by next week. Wow at least you have a friend that is good in drawing skills because I am not really into that especially when making human figure hahahah.... maybe next time I will do a lot of 3d artworks then post it here or even be my profile picture.

Your picture gave me a sense of relaxation. It's great that someone appreciates your painting. How about putting one of your art as your profile picture, especially the 3D ones? I have asked a friend for pieces of art too. We were attending this boring seminar together and she drew a picture of me drinking tea and that was really great because that's just what I feel like doing then. She captured my mood totally.

bluemoonpavilion hi I can write, not paint, or draw or compose, but I can write. I won a contest in the University on my novel, but its still unpublished and in storage now. I am going to write my autobiography of growin up on a South Dakota farm back 70 odd years ago. Perhaps some way I might even get it published.I have had my poetry praised and got A's in creative writing classes in junior college and in the U.Still I am unpublished. But I have to write, its like breathing for me, its a have to. I dislike being here in this tiresome dull retirement center but it was either that or drift around homeless on the streets. My son did not want that for either of us so here I am and the good news is last Wednesday after a year and a half of being jobless he has now got a good job.

Hi Hatley, do publish your novel soon and get started on that biography. It sounds like you are a good writer and it would be a pity if your works are not published. Is there any kind of platform that you use for displaying your poetry? Congrats to your son for getting a good job, now you can worry less about him. How is the retirement center like? Can you get any inspiration for your writing from there?

I did not seek what be my creativity, but I like to write what has became my thoughts. Writing is fun because I am free to express what I desire

Yes, it sure is nice to see our thoughts appeared in the form of words. Do you start a diary or a blog then for a record of these thoughts?

I have always felt the creativee urges. I was never good in art. An artist to paint or draw, i will never be. I just do not have the talent for it. My creativity shines through. I have written on and off for many years. Writing poetry is my favorite form of expression. Writing inspires and motivates me.

I always find poems inspiring as they are concise form of words, it is much more difficult to write poems. Do you publish your writings or you just keep them?

I am like you I am not really creative at all, although I have written poetry in the past, just for myself, not for publication or contests though. I think writing could be the only creative side of me that I have. I would love to be able to paint or draw pictures, but I just am no good at that type of thing even though I have tried so many times in the past. I actually hated Art at school, because I knew I just couldn't do it.

I have tried writing poetry too but only when I see something that strikes me. I like to write and draw pencil drawings but mostly for my own amusement.

My creativity seems low. I had learned painting for nearly ten years, and finally gave up. I dont have ability in art. I find I'm a good learner, not a good inventor. I desire for inspirations!

Isn't it better to paint just for enjoyment? Create works for your own leisure rather than hoping to become an artist?
