here i am, minding my own business on my balcony and typing out a discussion i wanted to start (not this one)... and this huge bug almost flew right into me but slammed right into the glass door right behind my head. that flying insect thing really caught me off-guard and i was really surprised and shocked when i heard the buzzing sound. it was scary for that moment and my imagination was running wild for those few seconds..and i really thought it was something else out to get me..
and then my phone rang..my next-door neighbor was calling. he asked in a most concerned voice, 'who's that girl screaming at your place?'. of course i had to lie and tell him that my tv was on a bit too loud and he most probably heard something from there...
what could i do? i had to lie to protect my 'macho' reputation..well, sort of macho reputation..
what would you do if you were really surprised and was caught off guard by something or someone? what if you were so surprised that you react in a way that you normally wouldn't, how would you 'redeem' yourself to get back that image you so carefully crafted?
and before i hear any wisecracks from my myLot friends...no, i do not normally scream like a girl when i'm surprised

how would i know to get my recorder ready for something like that?
and of course he didn't believe me...he knows me too well, and i think i might have used that excuse before in a similar situation

First off LOL secondly you shouldn't give a hoot what people thing, normally I'm a strong individual meaning nothing much scares me I can watch the goriest films on TV and not be bothered by it, I'm not afraid of any animals I'm a pretty solid thinker.
BUT when it comes to bee's, spiders, roaches, wasps, or any other wired insect I'm absolutely petrified I jump run sometimes even scream and so what if I'm afraid or if I have a slight phobia to insects, no ones perfect.
Now I'm a girl so people tend to expect certain reactions out of females, but I assume your a men from reading your post so I know it might be a little embarrassing for someone to see you or hear you express your fears about somthing, especially among males because a lot of men associate screaming with women but the truth is guys scream too and guys get startled its not a crime, your a human being so there's nothing wrong with be afraid or startled, and expressing an emotion, minus the screaming of course JUst kidding lol. but honestly I probably would have just told the truth and said there was a bee or somthing startled me but thats just me. all I'm saying is that I try not to let what other people might think control me or allow it to make me feel bad or like I cant be honest.

Your right some guys can be way too judgemental about showing certain emotions but whats important is that your comfortable in your own skin, and that you dont let others make you feel like you cant be yourself.
So what if your not moncho, and fearless all the time, and you got a little freaked out its normal everyone has a freak out moment from time to time. so what you screamed like a girl and slammed into the door lol big deal very funny but big deal rolling on the floor with laughter but who cares. no just kidding agin not really rolling on the floor with laughter lol it was funny though.

lol!That is the funniest story I have heard in a long time! you screamed like a girl? That is hilarious! A few of my best laughs have been at myself when things like this happen though! ..but I don't generally scream like a girl! Even though I am a girl.

When I something like that happens to me...I would probably scream like a girl. And to redeem myself, I would probably laugh and admit that I got scared for a moment. No problem there.
