this weekend i have the honor of being a cook for my friends here.. (here where i live, not here in myLot...unfortunately ). it's going to be a barbecue party hosted by yours truly so, starting tomorrow, i'll be preparing some nice marinades for the steaks i bought and also start the mashing for some nice hamburger patties.. and for my vegetarian friends who'll be coming over, there's gonna be some nice vegetable kebabs..mario style i'm so inspired by the 'Naked Chef' program on the cooking channel at the moment. oh what a wonderful day this Sunday will be (provided that the rain agrees to stay away).. i do like my little cookouts once in a while. and my friends and i sort of rotate amongst ourselves as to who hosts the our weekend get-togethers.. i usually am not around to join in as often as i would like, but i do grab the chance to put up a good spread and be a good host when my turn comes around.. plus, i'm going to take this chance to make my guests wear little cute party hats..haha.. how about you? are you a part of a circle of friends who do little cookouts once in a while? how are your parties like where you are?

Get a room ready, Mario. I'm on my way. I would go for the steaks, thank you. It must be T-BONE, okay. We normally have cookouts, but i am lazy and busy these days, so they do it without me. Enjoy. TATA.

No! We don't have this type of cookouts in our locality. If we want to celebrate something with our friends, the only way is to have a dinner at a good restaurant or go for a picnic with all the desired edible things. But once in our college days, I remember a day where we cooked some Pooris and chappatis( Indian tiffin items) with omlette, in one of our friend's room.

...well, it is something like a picnic where you do the cooking 'on-the-spot'. its a very nice experience and i do recommend it, if it's possible to do in your place and i looove Pooris..especially when it's all hot and fluffy

Cooking Session - Organising a cooking session is quite enjoyable
I have organised several of them in my life time and the last one was for my classmates. The one that I organised for my office colleagues was indeed memorable. It was a full day affair. They all stayed overnight - all 8 of them (ladies only) and the only male around was my husband, pampered to the bone. I can still remember the ice cream made in the ice cream pale. One who we all looked up to was kept in charge of churning the ice cream pale and what a sight that was. One made the sweet corn and chicken soup, I was the boss seeing that everyone did their duties. There were several dishes each one being the responsibility of any one individual. The night was also wonderful - I did not have beds for all and so some of them slept on the floor and I slept with them. None of my office colleagues are in my life now but these memories sustain me!

Barbecue is best suited for less juicy hard vegetables.Suitable as peppers, courgettes are excellent, or nightshade. Very powerful and popular is the grilled whole cobs. You can experiment but also with other varieties of vegetables - the carrots, celery or patisony. Grill potatoes remain classics. Grilled vegetables in a group may be included to simplify and fungi - grill great show for our own žampionum catches out of the woods. If you grill vegetables just in isolation, cut it to medium-thin slices and sprinkle on just before grilling spices and salt. Have a nice day and good entertainment.
