Last night I met all my siblings a few blocks away from my mom's house. We did that so we could all arrive at the same time. We surprised her with the big get together! She had no idea we were all coming. Today is her 70th birthday. We sat around and told stories about when we were growing up and the things we remember that she did! IT was so much fun! When is the last time you surprised someone like that?

Well my mum seems to think that she is getting a cheap greenhouse for her birthday, but instead me and her partner have gone halves on a laptop and we sorted that out today as we aregetting it delivered this week ready for next month.I think that she will love her present as i know that someone else will get her a plastic green house.

That is really cool that you are all working together to get her some something so nice! Maybe if someone asks what she wants you can suggest the green house!

Thank you I'll tell her for you! They do pretty good for their age. They don't sit around and do nothing that's for sure! They have managed to keep a pretty young mind set!

That sounds like so much fun! I am sure she enjoyed it. I don't think I have ever done that to the point of meeting somewhere else and then, everyone piling in at once. That was a great idea.

Well, I had to figure out something because I knew if we all started trickling in she'd catch on real soon! This way she was surprised all at once with all of her kids showing up at one time to sing Happy Birthday to her!!

About four years ago my sister, brother and I suprised my parents in Florida for their 50th anniversary. It was so much fun they couldn't believe that we surprised them. I was so afraid to do this because they both have had heart attacks and I was afraid we were going to cause another. However, everything turned out great and it was a wonderful time by all. I haven't seen my parents now in 2 years and miss them so much. Hopefully and God willing come August I will be able to visit with them for two weeks. I can't wait. They are now 74 and 75 and not getting any younger.

That sounds wonderful. I am sure she was so happy and so delighted. The last time we did something like that was for my husband's best friend's mom's 70th birthday. They had a big party for her. She is not family but she is like family since my husband has known her for 30 years and I have known her myself for nearly 25 years and she is a great lady who I love like family. It was a really big surprise for her. Her name is Carolyn so when she walked in everyone started singing Sweet Carolyn. It was very special.

Hi, macdingolinger. That is so sweet of you all to surprise your mother like that! I have not surprised anyone in a while as of now. But I am very full of surprises so I know that I may someday surprise someone that I love. I know that you all have enjoyed sharing stories from your early childhood. I hope that your mom will have a beautiful and blessed Birthday today! And I wish her many more lovely Birthdays too.

That's great. I love surprises. It was nice of you and your family to care for your mom even at this age. There are some children who have abandoned their parents because they are old and rely on them. Recently, I went to an old age orphanage and met many men and women. While talking to one woman I learnt that the woman has 8 children who do not come to see her nor want to look after her. It was very sad and touching to see old people in such situation. Send my regards to your mom for her birthday and a big cheer to you for caring for your mom.

We are all close to mama in our own special way. Each of us spend time with her and really do it quite a bit. But we are rarely all together at one time. It was very special to her for all of us to show up all at one time!
