Huh, this is the dirtiest room?

Which one do you think it is? I live in an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, a storage room and two bathrooms. I didn't expect one of the bathrooms to be soooo....dirty. I thought that since we are bathing in it everyday, water get splashed around, it wouldn't be very dirty. How wrong I was. I scrubbed the floor every week but last night I spent much time scrubbing the walls and many hidden corners. A lot of dirt came off from the walls, I was so shocked that it looked so white and clean after that. I guess our body produces, or rather collects, more dirt than we think. So what do you think about your house? Any difficulty in cleaning?

hi bluemoonpavilion when we had our own apartment the bath rooms always seemed to need the most cleaning then the kitchen and the rest of the apartment. The bedrooms did get dusty as they backed up to the service road around the complex plus the neighbors also parked their cars outside our bedroom windows. That was an awful way to arrange apartments for one thing. it was most disconcerting for me to be on t he computer and have a neighbor park his car right outside my window. He would sit there and rev his engine then turn on the stereo too loud. I got so I would yell turn that off as I am trying to work there. They usually did then.

You must have a loud voice to be able to yell over the noise of the stereo. I hope your neighbour does not do that when you want to go to sleep too.

I also got the chance to live in an apartment with messy people around, if i will to choose between kids and those people that i lived with then i would rather choose kids. Cause you can discipline kids but it is more harder to impose something to older persons or persons at your age. Those are my roommates. And the bathroom and kitchen was the most messy and dirtiest part of the apartment, and i don't have a choice but to clean it all since no one wants to volunteer. And about the cleaning process, it's really so hard cause you really have to scrub all the dirt, put a certain chemical on it to make it easier to remove dirts and the gross part is to really scrub every inch of the toilet bowl. I should say that maybe bathrooms are easy to get dirt because it is always wet and mosts germs live it wet area.

Poor you. If your roommates are not concerned about cleanliness and hygiene, and you are very conscious of it, life's going to be hard because you find that you are the only one doing all the work! You are right about germs living in the wet area, I think I need to really sterilize it once in a while. I have not done that before.

Hi bluemoon, My bathroom is the most difficult to clean as well. It is really tiny but there is no ventilation so it is also really damp and mildews easily. The worst part is the grout between the tiles in the shower. I can scrub and scrub and still it never looks clean enough.

Hi sid, You are also having bathroom trouble. I think it is the most hazardous place in the house. Already there are a lot of germs there, coupled with the damp environment, the situation could be very bad. Now I'm really worried about it, I think I have to spend more time on it. For the grooves between the tiles, sometimes we may need to use an old toothbrush to clean these properly but that's really hard work!

hi there. wow, great job! i guess it took muscles and sweat to have the whole apartment squeaky clean. hats of to you. ;-) by far the dirtiest part of the house is the restroom. it takes a lot of effort cleaning it and you can't afford not to clean it. i just love the smell of fresh scrubbed bathroom walls. it gives me feeling of cleanliness. ;-)

I normally spaced the cleaning out, then I realized actually it didn't really take up that much of my time. Yes, it's wonderful to see walls becoming clean again, I feel like some of the rubbish in my life has been cleared too.

I ask myself this question a lot! I like a clean house and there are only the three of us living in it although we have two indoor cats and a dog that occasionally comes inside. We have two bathrooms which get used regularly; I wipe them down daily and scrub them weekly and yet one of the showers has mould all over it! Ahhhh! It drives me crazy because I don’t always have the time, the energy or the inclination to scrub, clean and polish!

I can see keeping the house clean is freaking everybody out, I wonder where all these dirt came from. Wow, you wipe the bathroom everyday? You are very diligent! Do you experience humid weather, which explains the mould? Or you may need to dry it after cleaning it.

If you have seen my dormitory you'll know what does a dirtiest room like. In four years, what we did about cleaning is only sweep the floor and wipe the table. Caliduct, windowsill and other hidden corners are never been cleaned. Dust at these places has deposited for four years, maybe eight years, because I saw they were there when I enter the dormitory. Both me and my roommates are lazy men. I should admit.

Oh no, I hope you all do not become ill because of all that dust, but then again, it's pretty hard to get at those places you mentioned. My windowsills also get cleaned like once in a blue moon....

I feel my bedroom would be the most dirtiest. I would not say dirtiest because there is very less dirt, but I would rather call it messy. It's very very untidy with a lot of stuff just strewn around the room here and there. All my stuff is usually disorganized except for my books which are always stacked up each other like the leaning tower of Pisa. All they need is a small gust to fall down and create more mess lol.. I sometimes get down to clean it only to find that I get distracted with the stuff I find half way through and leave it at that. It sucks cos my mum is always telling me to clean and I end up cleaning only half of it.. bourne

I can understand that kind of mess, and it gets harder to clear up if we keep putting it off. Things get piled up higher and higher until we just have to dedicate a whole day just to sort it out!

With kids around it's not easy to keep a house clean, have to continually pick things up behind them.
