My slow cooker died - tragedy!!

Last week I prepared a lovely chicken curry before going out for the day and left it in my trusty old slow cooker so that it would be ready when I got home. However when I got home there was no welcoming curry smell and my slow cooker was cold to the touch - the uncooked chicken sat in the pot looking very miserable - the slow cooker had died!!!!! I find that my slow cooker is one of the most essential pieces of equipment in my kitchen. I can add the worst quality meat, and when it has finished cooking, it will be the most tender meat you have ever tasted, but here it was DEAD I was straight into town to buy another, I could not cope without one!! What kitchen appliance would you most miss?

I would miss my cake mixer!! Oh how I love that. Before I used to do it all by hand, but ever since I got the mixer, well I have become very lazy, and I love the fact that I can just literally chuck it all in there, and away it goes mixing it all in ready to be put in pans to cook in the oven! I actually think that my cakes have turned out a lot better, since using it. They are very expensive though, so I hope that it does not die on me!

Yeah that is a bargain... mind you argos are pretty good with things like that! I got my slow cooker last year, from Morrison's, it was on offer at £9.99 it's brilliant I can see why you couldn't do with out it!

I hardly ever use by oven now - between my halogen oven and slow cooker I don't need it!!

Probably my waffle-maker. I don't use it often but I could get by without mixers and other small appliances if I had to, but it would be very hard to make a waffle when I craved one without the waffle iron.

I used to have one many years ago, but it was one of those appliances that ended up in the back of my kitchen cupboard!!

For many years my slow cooker was my best friend, and it still is. I have them in several sizes. I can even make homemade yogurt in one (in jars) and bake Boston Brown Bread. This year I will make apple butter in the slow cooker. Other favorite however are the bread machine and the George Foreman Grill. Microwaves are nice but I could manage without one.

hmmmm...this is quite a tough one i'm going to choose my toaster oven. i can live without the microwave oven. i can make do without the gas stove. i can even figure my way around if my kettle went bust. but i don't think that i'll be able to last if i can't make a quick grill cheese sandwich with my toaster oven
