About a week ago, my boyfriend took a towel and wrapped a tiny, skinny stray kitten up with a towel and took it upstairs to my place. Originally, he wanted to take her in, but he couldn't. So I have been taking care of her and I love her so much. The first day, she was covered in fleas, malnourished and so just completely lethargic. She is also a black cat and I live in California and it was hot for days so she was for sure dehydrated. She was too small and young to give a flea treatment, so had to give her a bath and pick the fleas off. After a little over a week, she is flea free, has gained weight and is full of life and plays contstantly, she is a real kitten....she had so many fleas, and so skinny, I am sure she would have died of anemia or dehydration or starvation. I may keep her, I may have to give her away, but either way, she will have a life now and I am so glad for that because that sweet tiny thing deserves it. So anyone that has a rescue story, please share

i have experienced saving cats, small and medium so many times, but unfortunately, i couldn't help them all to live longer as some of the cats i saved are too thin to stay alive. just today i saved a wonderful cat with orange eyes but she was thin and i am not sure if she is going to live.i wanted her to live because my male cat doesn't have a partner.

She probably has worms. You can get worm medicine at the store for under $5. Open the pills and mix the powder with wet cat food. Usually the thinness of these cats is caused by worms and they are one of the easiest parasites to treat. Good luck!

I could do PAGES of rescuing cats, I have 28 cats, all have been rescued to some point... I have posted a lot of these stories in their own discussions.

About two to three years ago, I was doing laundry. Since I live in an apartment complex, I have to leave my apartment and go to a laundry matt. So On this particular night, it was kind of cold and I was getting done real late. As I entered the actual mat I heard the sound of this (what I thought at the time to be a kitten) meowing at me. She was real skinny and small. She came right up to me and I picked her up and she purred. Well since she was so friendly, and didn't appear to have a home, I called my partner to come pick her up. For the first few days we took her in, and I tried to see if she might belong to our neighbors. However, no one claimed her so we took her in. When we took her to the vet for the first time, not only did we learn she wasn't a kitten, but she easily gained the lost weight back. In fact since she was still small (and still is) the vet at first thought she might be pregnant. Lucky for us she wasn't, but never-the-less that was quite the scare. Anyway, that day at the vet, we learned that Chinnia (that's what George and I named her) was actually the runt of her litter. Hence her size. Compared to my cat Precious she's quite small. (and now she's fully grown)... and stilll smaller then he is.

My dad's store rescued some stray dogs. They used to be homeless, and my dad took them in. Now, they have a roof over their heads and a nice meal everyday. They get treated for fleas and stuff. They don't need to roam the streets searching for food anymore. :)

I have resqued one cat, one time. It came in one shop and we saw it has nobody, so took it in home for like a week. Then we found it new owners and they took care for it. It was a cute cat, but we couldn't let it live with us.
