There are stray dogs everywhere and have also created problems in many places of the world. There are instances of stray dogs killing young kids and in some cases even eating kids. It is ridiculous isn't it? how can this be controlled ? is there any solution for controlling these all along the world or are you in favor of eliminating them? there are many animal lovers who oppose to this as they feel it as inhuman to take out their life. But what can be the solution for such problems?

kids eaten by stray dogs? can't blame the dogs for that, blame the parents of that kid for not attending to their kid. i disagree with eliminating stray dogs, it's humans that sent them to the streets and left them scavenging for food. the only instinct that controls them is the instinct to survive. i say NO to eliminating stray dogs, i would prefer eliminating stray person, lol..

This has happened as stray dogs attacked from all sides and the kid was just playing outside the house and few more who were around also couldn't stop these dogs nor chase it at that time.It was a very shocking incident as the whole city went on rampage for sometime chasing every street dog around and beating it

Well it's a touchy subject to some people but it's obvious to others. I personally do like dogs and find them to be refreshingly innocent compared to people. But the stray's ARE a problem, it doesn't matter what caused the problem because it's there. It does have to be solved because they do breed on there own. And assuming that there are a lot of strays in a bigger city not to mention a lot of other animals and the average litter is about 7-12 puppies If there are 2000 strays on the streets and say 600 of them give birth to 9 puppies each that's 5400 dogs. If you consider they CAN get pregnant twice a month that's 10800 puppies a month. That's 129600 puppies a year. If each of those manage somehow to survive and give birth that's over a million. I know it's a worst possible situation (Human view) But the point is if we don't solve the problem it's gonna get really bad and they are going to revert to there original nature of actually hunting and forming packs. Let's be frank the average dog could probably kill an average human especially a wild. There are a lot of ways we could solve the problem but we need to do it fast and right now the easiest option is to kill them. It's sad I know and I think it should be necessary to either raise the puppies, give them away or in the worst case scenario kill them (Either that or there going to be put on the streets). It's harsh I know but it has to be done.

Many of them do like dogs as they also love to keep them at their house, feeding and playing with them as they also say dogs are man's best friend. But here, we are just worried about wild stray dogs which are troublesome for everyone. Some of them even get scared to walk along the road when these stray dogs are roaming around nearby.Such things have to be controlled isn't it?

shocker154, I know stray dogs population can multiply very fast, but I have to tell you that your calculations are wrong. There is a little mistake in the statement "they can get pregnant twice a month". Dogs are not like rats. A female dog can get pregnant only twice a YEAR. Anyway, just the numbers were wrong, the ideaa is correct. If stray dogs are left to breed on their own, the number of strays will increase very fast.

I am not in favor of killing strays.these dogs were abandoned by their owners or puppies of dogs who previously had a family.dogs are better than some people.the best way to control strays are to have pets neutered.I am thankful that some pro-animal organizations have shelters that help these lovely creatures.

Most of them who have commented here are not in favor of killing stray dogs which i can also understand , but if you consider the kid who did lose his life because of these stray dogs you will also get wild on such dogs. So, there has to be some strong solution to stray dogs so tat this incident is avoided in future

Unless the dog is aggressive or belong to the dangerous breed, I am not of favor to eliminate them. If they belong to the two group, I would prefer to give organisation like SPCA to try and round the dog up instead of killing them.

So, you mean to say that all those aggressive dogs should be eliminated without giving any second chance? giving it to organizations is just easy to say as there are some organizations who protest against killing, but don't take the responsibility of taking them in ! so, it again depends on organization and the place you are talking in.If there was solid solution for this problem then many of us can sleep properly

I am NOT in favor of eliminating stray dogs. It's not their fault they've become "problems". The humans in their community have to be responsible for them. Put them in shelters, neuter and spay. Soon, the "problem" will begin to decrease and hopefully, disappear. Pet owners have to be responsible and more mindful of their dogs.

I strongly agree that people around have to find solution, but do these stray dogs have any right to kill people like this ! over that, what this innocent kid did to such stray dogs as this kid was just playing outside his house without disturbing anyone isn't it? don't you feel for the kids?

Animal lovers has to come out with solution for stray dogs to avoid killing these animals or else what is the use of loving dogs and not ready to give out any solution or attend to these stray dogs? do consider their life as they also have the right to live, but if no one attends to such problems then even dogs have no right to klll kids or attack people? do they have?

Do you have proper examples of these kid-eating instances you refer to? Why was the child unattended so the dogs could get at it. Most cases where a dog attacks a child it often isn't a stray at all but an unsupervised pet left with an unsupervised child. There are too many dogs in the world to be cared for properly - of course, you could say the same about humans!

taking their life is a no no for me. They can put an organization to take care of stray dogs. Expensive but it can happen

I also don't say that dogs have to be killed as there are also many dog lovers like you around the world, but at the same time some solution has to be thought of to stop such incidents happening again.Instead of thinking of dogs, just think about the kid who lost his life because of this wild dogs, even you will feel very very shocked and sorry for this small kid !

stray dogs eating kids????(O_O) are you sure about that? that's really...weird. anyway, when you say 'eliminate' do you mean kill? if that's what you meant, then my answer would be NO(capitalization intended for emphasis). dogs are amazing creatures. they're not considered man's best friend for nothing. sometimes, dogs do get violent but that's probably because they are deprived of proper shelter and food. some of them even abused. i think the existence of stray dogs only reflect the negligence of their owners. there ought to be animal welfare facilities to take care of these maltreated dogs so they don't go around causing trouble. and most importantly, people should not get pets for themselves if they are unable to give them the love and care they most definitely deserve.

I did not mean killing dogs but controlling street dogs getting violent like this incident mentioned.I would not have hesitated to kill a dog if this killing of kid happened in front of me for sure. But in other words, i am just curious on other possible solutions which can be implied all over the world in a far better way

Well I guess the government should do something about it. It's inhumane to kill stray dogs but letting them around causes trouble. I think its better for them to be captured and placed in those dog pounds and educate the people more on how to be a responsible pet owner.

The government can do something for sure, but there are some organizations against doing anything do stray dogs.so these organization has to be given powers of controlling these stray dogs instead so that people can leave peacefully around the world. If no one takes this responsibility, then it might grow to a major problem for sure
