Are you impulsive?

When you want to start a new discussion do you usually think about your topic for some time before you post it or are you more impulsive and do you tend to start discussions straight way if you get an idea? Did you ever regret posting a discussion? Sometimes I think about my topic for a while and I think about which questions to ask, but most of the time I am pretty impulsive. When I get an idea I am usually eager to hear other people's opinions and I tend to start the discussion straight away.

I'm not such impulsive. Usually I'll consider whether my post is too sharp or personal, whether it will hurt someone here. MyLot is an international communication site after all, we are from different places, countries, we have different religions and cultures. So we should take others' feeling into considering. Sometimes I gave up my half-typed post because of this.

Yes, the members of MyLot have different cultures and different backgrounds. That is one of the reasons I enjoy spending my time here, I think that our differences make the discussions more interesting, and we are able to learn from eachother. But at the same time we also have to consider the feelings of the other members before we post something. Sometimes people get hurt over things that we don't find offensive at all, and we all have different beliefs, religions and backgrounds.

nope, in this case, not anymore. There were some instances i posted just because i felt like it but of course it's so much better if you post stuff after thinking about the reply or if it does fit in with the situation/topic being discussed. I tend to search first if there are topics of the same things that i'm planning to post before i do post anything. We wouldn't want duplicate posts eh? And if ever there are existing topics/discussions on the things i want to post, i can always reply to other people's topics. No problem with that. =)

I won't start start a topic randomly or on impulse, I will only post something I'm interested in or am concerned about right now. If I have another topic coming up in my mind, I also will not post it immediately because people need time to respond to my topic. I give them time to read and reply, then I give myself time to read and reply Exceptions may be in cases when I need an advice urgently. I would ask all the helpful people here and my problem would be solved soon!

Yes, MyLot is a great place to find help and advice I have received some very helpful responses when I asked for help, and I really appreciate that. I think it is a good idea to post a one discussion or a few discussions at a time so that you have time to comment on the responses.

Oh, I'm not impulsive at all. I tend to think too much probably haha. I've only started a few discussions on here. I'm not much into starting a discussion, I prefer to comment on other peoples questions, stories, etc. I tend to find older discussions that haven't been replied to in a while instead of making a new one that's really similar to an old one. But that may be a habit of mine from other message boards because it was always frowned upon to start a new topic if it was really similar to an older thread.

I think that I am the opposite of impulsive; most of the time I can think about a discussion for days before I actually start one. Sometimes, I just think of a discussion but never start it. It's like I plan some topics that I could start, and after a while I forget about some of them. Basically most of my discussions are never even started on myLot, lol

Impulsive? I'am an impulsive shopper. But I'm trying to control it since its not healthy to do so. But when it comes to posting a discussion then I think not.

Impulsive give rise to quite action - Action minded people are often impulsive.
Yes i think i am impulsive, usually i am quite dull minded and simple straightforward minded . However , in creating discussion i usually will search it first see whether it is done already if not then i will start the discussion .However, since i am quite dull minded, i have not started any major discussion.Thinking about it i think i am not impulsive enought.

By your definition, I am impulsive in terms of discussion start ups.. I just randomly pick a topic and go ahead with the discussion...

I am a newbie so I get very impulsive to want to start a wide variety of discussion topics. The impulse does not work with the rest of my brain though. It then takes 3 or 4 days before I can actually post a discussion topic. I think them through before I post it for everyone to comment. I have only submitted a grand total of 2 topics to date. I should get better at this, but just a reminder to everyone out there about me, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Happy posting to all !!!
