I have this habit of not reading FAQ, instructions, manuals or anything that would describe how things are done. Sometimes I would feel lazy reading all of those materials and in the end I would end up asking and asking why this thing happen. How about you do you read instructions first before doing something?

It depends on the situation. If I have bought a gadget that I don't know anything about, I always read the instructions and try to follow them step by step. If I have bought a new stereo, cell phone etc I usually prefer to experiment and learn by trial and error. In those cases I use my experience from similar situations, and I am usually able to figure things out simply by trying. If I have no experience whatsoever, it is usually too difficult to find solutions that way, and I prefer to read the instruction carefully in order to learn more about the thing I have bought.

I think if I can deal with the new machinery so easily , I will skip the instructions and descriptions . If not , I have to read them slowly and carefully before I operate it , although I do not like reading the instructions .

Yeah I do the same thing. Its like my way of assuring myself that I'm doing the right thing.

I hate reading instructions and manuals because i find that they leave me more confused and bewildered than before. I prefer the hands -on approach and get around with a trial and error method. Thats how i learned the computer and internet, all by myself and just was shown the basics by a friend.when i got my mobile phone i went through the manual but got so bogged down that i flung it aside and started pressing the panel and went on a voyage of discovery. Till today one of my friends can`t get started on the internet and even his cell phone. His wife and kids have tried to explain to him but he simply goes blank.Manuals with their technical descriptions confuse more than enlighten, so i go straight to the instrument without any fuss.

I kind of browse through them to get a general idea of what is in there, but I can't say that I read them properly most of the time, no... I know that's a very bad habit, but I have to be honest here!

I think it is due to the fact that it takes so long to read and work through personally I would rather start with something and learn from my mistakes and take the practical approach.
