I Love My Smoky-Pokey!

We took Smoky in a year ago. He was an older kitten that my daughter actually trapped. At first he was difficult. He was so timid and took a while to start using the litter box! (PEEEE-YEEWWW!) He used to run away from us all the time and hide in my sewing room. He was so pretty, though! He has a soft fluffy medium length coat and a stubby tail like a Manx has. I think it was the stubby tail that caught my heart. I found it easy to be patient with Smoky. He had such sad eyes and I knew that he would prove to be a wonderful kitty if I just kept working with him. Well, a year later, I am thrilled to find that he is one of the two best kitties in my household. I operate a cat rescue in my home and foster cats so we have a constant flux in the number of cats here. I put the indoor limit at four and currently have two outside cats in addition to my indoor kitties. When the day comes that I finally leave here, Smoky will be one that goes with me. He is definitely a keeper!

Well, my finances preclude any more...besides, my trailer is small and I don't have that much room. Not to mention the litter box odor! EEEWWW!

The Smoky you describe is so cute. More and more people raise dogs, cats, rabbits, even snakes as their pets. My friend regards them as a family. When they are sick, she will be worried. When they die, she crys sadly. But, my mother doesn't allow to raise them. She thinks the excreta is difficult to clean and it is trouble to feed them. So, I have no chance to raise any pets. Maybe when I marry, I can.

LOL...well, they can make a mess and it isn't pleasant to clean up but then so do children. I've changed enough diapers to know...and those diapers aren't always leak-proof, either!
