What would you do if you found out that your school wasn't that good?

I'm currently studying in a university here in asia and found out that most of the other schools in my city teach better in my course. One of our professors even told us that we were sort of weak compared to the other schools and this kind of discouraged me. I'm already at my second to the last year at college so transferring to another school is a bad idea. What would you guys suggest?

My elementary school later on turned out to be a very weak school and I still feel very bad about it. Instead of a 15 minute break we always had a 45 minutes break which is against law. 30 minutes times 250 ( lets say thats the amount of days I went to school) times 8. I could have learned so much in the meanwhile!!! As for your situation just stay at that school and when you go to the next level evaluate with your professor if you have holes in your knowledge, if so work together to fill them up. ;-)

You put your situation differently. In 45 minutes in 1 day, you wouldn't learn much. The teacher will probably review and things like that. Keep it basic. If you had 45 minutes of a break every day, then only 45 minutes will be deducted from your day. I don't even think you could be taught a lesson and review it. Now if you add or multiply the minutes up, surely its going to be a big number. But that entire number was only going to go through reviews. You can't take 45 minutes and add it to the other days 45 minutes, and say I lost 90 minutes. You basically didn't lose anything for each day. Its kind of confusing, but if you understand, its simple.

It's ok since you only have this experience in your elementary years. Though it is important, it is much more complex in college since you get your majors which are your basis for your future.

Still, adding everything up is a big number. Then again indeed later on good quality education is even more important as it provides a stable springboard to jump even further with. :D

You strive hard to be on top of everybody else in school. Research the topics you are about to discuss for your whole semester. You join a lot of inter school competition and make your school proud so that everybody will know that your school does not just hold weaklings but champions too. Sometimes, you do not have to be a genius to do all these stuffs. You just have to be extra diligent and have that drive to go forward. :D

Actually, this is what I am worried about too. Because I am at par with the top ones in my class and knowing that we were called 'weak' by our professor only made us depressed.

Well then, you might want to prove him wrong. But you must strongly motivated in order to do that. If you want something there are many ways but if you don't want it that much there are many excuses. I like the strategy of your professor. He may tear you apart but he can also push you to your success. Good luck then. :D

well it really depends on the student there are students who belong to a bad school but topped the board exam for licensing. But employment is another thing. Some companies have biases when it comes to what school your came from.

If school is important for you and the current one isn't teaching everuthing you need to know... go and find another one that is good for what your studying and that teaches everything of the subject your studying

You know, you aren't really helping with my problem. You're actually making it worse. Please refrain from posting comments which are generally unhelpful for others like me. Thank you.

You have to make the best of your college. It is already to late to transfer. After you finish you college and make the best of it, you can talk to an administrator of another college and see if you can restart college and enroll in their college.

That's really bad since you just found out that your school is bad during your last last 2 years. Anyway, I have the same experienced with yours. Our school's facade has lured us that it is one of the universities for IT. But when We got enrolled in the school and had spend all our years in there We have found out that it had done nothing on us. We spent money and time yet we haven't learned anything during our 4years in that school. And sad to say that I just transfer there from another university because I thought that It is far way better than my former school but I was wrong. So I think the best thing you can do is to stick with your school and do some self study. You will not learn everything in school.
