Do you ever blab so much you lose your point?

I tend to do that alot. I'll start off talking about one thing, even TYPING about one thing and something will come to mind and get me all off on a totally different subject. I'm not sure why I do this, but it happens, and I can't go back to the original subject until I get out whatever side subject I wanted to talk about, and then worse, sometimes it's several side subjects later and I've forgottn my original point. So please tell me I'm not the only one? Do it quick before I get on to another subject, lol.

Happens to everyone I bet. I don't blab that much, but when I do, I sometimes find myself having gotten totally off the topic. But the king of that was Dr. Irving in college. He got off topic so much that not once, in any class I ever took with him, did he actually finish the subject matter. But we were always tested on it anyway. :-(

Doesn't sound fair that he tested you on it anyway, though i guess if it's in the books your supposed to know it anyway. Sounds like maybe he should've stuck to the lesson plan and left rambling to days that he didn't necessarily need to lecture. Yeah I reckon it does happen to everyone though, I mean babbling on.

I know that sometimes I am the same way that I will talk about something or I will type about something and then I will think of something and suddenly change subjects and talk about something else, even if it might not have anything to do with the original subject, and sometimes I will go through a bunch of subjects until I have forgotten what started the conversation, and I think sometimes we do this together and I think that I do it worse since you do it,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

I am definitely the queen of off subjectdom... so what about curtains, what color curtains should we have? lol.. see what I mean? Okay there I was just being silly. We wouldn't know what color curtains we'd want until we see the place, but I have a feeling it won't matter either way as the pattern on the walls will probably be light colored, and thin lines. Though I did see a picture of a trailer, and I think I showed you, where the kitchen had dark green and I think red wallpaper... See I'm even going off subject here.

Kind of like my granny's den or an inverted version of your granny's den? I mean the walls. Yeha we will have to figure out what kind of curtains but I guess first we'd have to get the place, and I don't reckon we'd be painting until later later, though if we were going to paint we would need to do that before we put any furniture in. Red would look nice or black. If we have like dark red walls kind of like our nephew and nieces bathroom well then I'd go with black curtains. Though that color of a wall for their bathroom? LOL oh well.

Lol it is good to be silly, and when it comes to curtains I think red curtains would be nice especially since I like red,and it is okay to go off subject like that and plus we will have to figure out curtains that go with our furniture, and the trailer we lived in had brown walls with black indented lines,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

hey dear... yeah it happens to me A LOOOOOOOOT and it seems things are connected to each other..I would be tending to talk at one thing, but suddenly I find myself talking about something else and from which I would find myself talking about another thing so, don't worry as I'm facing the same thing too!

Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only one to have this problem. It happens a lot too, especially if I get distracted by the t.v. or something, I'll go on about it for a few minutes, and then you'd better get my attention away from it and back on the subject at hand.

Hey SCG!! I really understand what you mean. When we talk about things we usually get off the topic. I was thinking if it's my fault. Your also feeling the same thing ^^

I think it's just natural to get off topic, and even natural to stay off the topic lol for awhile. So many things do fly into our minds, that we may just start talking like on automatic before we realize we've talked way too much.

I really have a tendency to do that. That's what makes it so exciting we talk a lot of things and never tire. LOL Now I'm trying to look for another article job. Just got kicked. hahaha Because of my grammar and I'm practicing on it. ^^

You are definitely not alone! I often loose my train of thought in mid discussion because I get distracted by another idea along the way and then I can't remember what I was originally talking about. I think (hope!) that this is just the way the mind works....so many thoughts fly through it all the time that it is difficult not to get distracted by some of them every now and again!

I think that it is just the way the mind works, and that all we can really do is just go with the flow, and eventually (maybe) we'll come back to our original thought process!

Yep, I have been in this situation a couple of times and is really awkward how I can't go back to the original topic. I also do this when typing.

Yeah it aggravates me a little from time to time when I can't go back to my train of thought either. However, when it comes to typing I usually keep on subject, or if I don't I can always erase what I put before I submit it.

Well I don't edit the things I put all that much either... lol I'm just saying I could. Though when typing if I make a typo I go back and fix it before I finish what I was saying. In school this actually helped on the keyboard typing speed tests as the errors were few lol.

Yeah, I have a problem like this when typing. I don't know why but I am just not used to reviewing/editing the things I post except when needed. I just type and type until I got nothing else to say and then press send, ok, etc.

Well Cowgirl I actually stick to the one Subject as much as I can because I end up confusing myself never mind others lol Sometimes something else comes into my mind yes but I try to push it back till I have finished the one subject lol

Oh well I confuse others then myself when they ask what I mean. It'd be better if I did stay on the one subject but alas I just don't end up doing that. What I need is a piece of paper and pen by my side at all times so I can write down the points I think of and then continue on the one point BEFORE moving on to the other lol.

Sorry to say, I do this too. It is very embarrassing at times. I have family members worse than I am about it, but still, I hate it and continue to do it.

I have one particular, well I'm not sure if she'd still be considered my aunt or not... but well an uncle's ex wife. Anyway she talks ALOT but as to whether she loses her point or not I'm not sure, but woo can she talk your ear off. I think it's better to talk little then a lot as if you talk a lot and lose your point your just going in circles, or boring who you're talking to ya know?

Hi SomeCowgirl, Ya, I tend to do that. I'll start out and get side-tracked and completely forget what I was originally talking about. More funny is that the person that I'm talking with will get caught up in it and he too will forget the original topic. it happens.

Yes, I do tend to do that sometimes, at very least. So I do know how you feel. I don't think that it's something that I can help sometimes. I really try not to blab so much that i lose my point. I really do, but sometimes I still do.

You are so funny! I only lose my point if someone interrupts me or I'm sleepy and/or get distracted. I hate when that happens.

Hmm...I do this quite often and sometimes I sidetrack too much that I forget what I was talking about. Most of the time I tend to forget the original subject that I was talking about. Unless it was a discussion of some sort for a project or work then I stay on track, but in casual conversations, I just go all over the place.

Yes when it's a casual conversation it's fine to get sidetracked. When it's a bout a project that needs to be done it's better to stay on subejct and on track, though even that can be hard to do if you're having fun with the project, or the friends or coworkers your doing said project with.
