For my part - time job, I think that I am an underpaid employee. I wasn't deserve that little payment from that manager I think. Well, it is a restaurant job, and I bust my *ss to take orders and bring out orders. I also help others to serve the customer. On the other hand, the host, who is the sister of the boss, never do anything except chitchat and yawning. I have to split the tips money with her half and half, while I do most of the job. So, do you think that I am an underpaid employee? What about you, do you think that your job treat you unfairly?

Almost every employee in this world thinks that he/she is being underpaid by their employer. And this is the main reason you will find the people are going on strike.

But have you ever think about what you had done, and what you got paid is unbalance at certain circumstances? Is there any measurement you can use to make this balance?

Many people though the same they are working, but do not get rated for that. My neighbor have the same situation. He can do what do all other workers or make something special and valuable, but no one will care about It. But, the painfullest thing would be that he will get the same salary like always. Boss kids always can do the easily jobs or nothing, but they would get a bigger position like workers who will work with all heart. I am not worker, but I know something from this things. Take care, Have a nice day!

I don't think you should have to split your tips with her!! NO way! I've heard of servers having to split sometimes a portion w/ the bus person but not the hostess. I know I'm underpaid at my part time job. Not so much the over worked but.... as I've said to my co-workers I feel like I"m going backwards as what I make now I made back in 1998! It's really depressing and sad sometimes... on the other hand I am thankful for the opportunity to work at all. And they are good to me other then I don't make much of anything and are willing to work around my hubby's schedule.

We're on the same boat, except that I didn't let that fact consume me. I didn't mind if my wage is very small. What I couldn't bear is that despite your efforts, people will still make issues against you that you are doing nothing and accomplishing nothing and to think, they are not here to see the day to day situation.

Count me in, I am like you, very much underpaid. Did you know that my salary today is less than minimum? My boss said this is only a starting salary that is why I give it a try. It's been 1 1/2 years has past and yet we didn't receive a salary increase and with no paid leaves and benefits, only he gave us a mid year bonus. He explained that we are running out of budget and he needs to wait for the collection before we get our raise. I did multi-tasking now and going outside with hot temperature without meal allowance is making me stress, so I think I need a raise, I can't save penny with my current salary.
