With the help of friends from mylot, something very good is coming out of something very bad. We had our creek bank destroyed by thoughtless people and with the help and advice of mylot friends we are now thinking and acting in a positive way to help our new arrivals know not to destroy our creeks. The law says no work within 50 feet but new people are not made aware of this law. The county puts out a booklet of how to deal with country living but this doesn't get to the new folks in time so we are working to make this an important items in all gifts to new people from our Chambers and our Realtors, if we can think of any other outlets we will encourage them to use this tool also. Thank you for your positive suggestions.

I wish the problems were solved, but these will take many years to correct. We have been working on a similar problem that was made by the people we brought the property from. At least we knew ahead some of the damage that had been done and were willing to do what we could to correct it. 20 years later we still struggle
each flood season. All we hope to do now with this new problem is get information to people to keep some from making the same mistake.

It is good that there is a publication that states the dos and don’ts of country living. Knowledge is what people need. I hope that there won’t be a repeat of such destruction. Isn’t it great to have MyLot to go to for suggestions? I’m glad people’s ideas helped you out...

Taking action is surely empowering. It is so much better than sitting and stewing. I am glad that there is a good outcome from this mess.

I think that there are a lot of times that something that is very good can come from something that is awful. Another example of this that applies to people on a more general basis is the recession that we've been in. This has been devastating to a lot of people to have to go through it, however, there are a lot of people that because of the loss of their jobs or the cutbacks in their hours they have been able to realize their dreams of starting their own businesses.
