Internet is like a huge rain forest waiting to be explored. Internet has it's advantages and disadvantage. Do you think getting treated for your ailments online is a advantage or disadvantage? Do you rely on the internet for getting treated for your diseases? I read a article recently on this subject and it said that getting treated online is not safe. What do you think about it?

Well, for general advice related to health related issues, sure, it is always good to have many sources, but when it comes to a very specific diagnosis I prefer a normal oldfashioned doctor.

There several Danish sites where you can get medical advice. I have never tried to ask a question on one of those sites, but I sometimes read some of the articles about diseases. I have gotten some useful information that way, but that kind of articles can't replace my own doctor, and if I have a health problem I prefer to ask him instead of an online doctor. On some sites it is possible to find your own diagnosis by answering yes or no to some questions. Those kinds of sites can give you an indication of your health problems, but they can't replace a visit to the doctor's.

Well personally I think that online Dr's can really only give you advice, they should not diagnose a health problem, because they cannot see you, if they diagnose someone with a condition through online chat or email, then how would they really know that the symptoms we have given to them are the correct symptoms for an illness, they could relate to something else entirely. I would not rely on what online Dr's say, I think maybe their advice could be ok to listen to, but really without them seeing us, how do we know who we are talking to, and how would we know that they were actually real Dr's? I would much rather wait and go see my own Dr, and know that I am talking to someone who knows what they are saying, rather than taking the chance online with a complete stranger.
