Are you allergic to Cigarette Smoke?

Smell of Cigarettes and The Odour It leaves around does it make you sneeze or feel sick? Now there has been so much written about Cigarettes and their effects on our Health and everyone else´s too. So much written about how to stop smoking and why you should do it to benefit you. But I have´nt seen one about being allergic to Cigarette Smoke is there anyone else allergic to the smell and the odour it leaves around or am I the only one in this World that just feels sick every time I smell it. I have never gotten used to the smell or the odour it has never ever. There are times when I am more "fragile" and I feel totally unable to even be in the same room as the Cigarette smell. Is anyone else like this? Who has this problem? Does no one else have the same feelings about it? Do you wonder what they put in the cigarettes? Surely I can´t be the only one who feels this nausea around cigarettes? What is your view?

Hiya nain, Some of the smokers will not consider other People around them. I get my nose blocked too every so often and I feel headachy also but not a proper headache it´s just from so much congestion in the nose and sore eyes. So I move away from them as quick as I can. Secondhand smoke is very bad for all of us who don´t even smoke you are right there. I know how you feel but I have smokers around me and I do try to drop hints but they are hard of hearing.

When I am in a closed space and the smoke could not escape anywhere, like in some bars or disco houses, Yes I really get allergies. Sometimes it leads to asthma. That is why I hate bar-hopping for that reason.

Yeah, at a minimum it gives me a headache, and if it's really in my face, I can get a little bit nauseous.

Hiya dawn, Well this is how it affects me but I put it down to a problem with dust house dust that is as sometimes I have a bit of an allergy to that but most of the time it´s not a bother. The smell does make me feel quite sick sometimes especially the dirty ashtrays that is what gets to me the most. Perhaps I am thinking also about what it is doing to those that I love as well.

Hello Professor, That is a great thing for you to have given it up and stayed away from it. Can understand how you feel even though I have never smoked well to tell the truth someone gave me one just one and said try this and I was nearly sick trying to smoke it so that is why I never touched another one again and always refused to even have another go at trying to smoke one.xxx

I think i am not really allergic to it, but i just hate it.. I can't stand any type of smoke since i feel like i can't breathe..I can't imagine why people would love to smoke at all.. since it's like burning your lungs.

Hiya lady, Reckon its because they suffer an addiction and it´s really hard for them to drop the habit. Some try really hard and even go back to it again. For me they should have desintoxication clinics where they can clean themselves out and so that way they would find it easier to drop the habit. I was reading once about a clinic in Tibet where smokers go and they really do clean their whole body out of that terrible substance nicotine. They give them special herbs and potions to make them sick and they start cleaning out. However I don´t what the result is I suppose it must be good and I hope so. It´s not just a case of taking those things from the chemists I think it´s a need of special help for them so as they don´t have relapses and go back to it again.xxx

Hiya oojo, Here I am sneezing away again because even if you don´t go into a Bar you will find People smoking in the Street and outside the Supermarkets too. There really is not much of a way out of it really except maybe going to the top of the highest Mountain near to you. For me it´s how they are hurting children who are already starting to pick up these habits too.
