No, not required. You can withdraw money without getting verified. You need not give your credit card details. I don't know whether it is secure or not, but when need is not there,why giving our personal details. I think we have to be get verified only if we want to exceed money withdrawal limits prescribed by them.

In order to continually improve the safety of the PayPal network, we ask members to enter their card verification numbers when registering a credit/debit card to their account. If a card verification number is NOT displayed on your card, you must use another credit card, as PayPal does not accept cards that do not have this number.
The card verification number is a security feature used to verify ownership of the card. It is required to ensure that the person entering the credit card number has possession of the card.

Thanks for the kind information,but what my question was ,if you give the three digit number on back of the credit card say VISA or Mastercard,they can withdraw money,isnt it?I just want to know whether paypal will take money like that......please let me know.....

yes,u can withdraw money ,if ur paypal account is not verified...,it is secure to give ur credit card number to paypal as its tranaction are secure in nature..,u must need to give three digit number of ur credit card number ,it is compulsory ,without that it wont accept it...the limit of withdraw op unverified paypal account is $500.00 USD per month,

I have used Paypal for years without any problems. They are one of the more secure sites on the internet, but you still need to be careful when entering your details on the site.
Oh, yes, I don't have a credit card, through choice, but I am still a verified member.

Its safe to give those three numbers... At least i use paypal a long time now and never had any problems whatsoever... Anyhow i use a system (available in Portugal) that allow me to creat a virtual Ccard that changes everytime you make a purchase so that way the number provided is always changing...

How do you take the virtual credit card?Can you please explain a further more,what is the charge for taking this card?How paypal identifies once you use your virtual credit card,it is just virtual.....isnt it?

if you don't verify your account then there will be a limit on withdrawing money.that is max 500$/month & upto a max of 3000$ total.if the total limt is reached then your account need to be verified by a credit card.
