I know it's not the Christmas season or even winter for that matter. But we are watching a video that has a winter theme to it wich got me to thinking if anyone had gone Caroling? I know I haven't personally gone door to door caroling. I've sang carols for holiday concerts when I was in a kid in school & when I was really small in church.

Yes I have done this and it was great fun, all snowy and clear, with hot cider passed around as we went from house to house to sing in the Christmas season.

When I was a kid, I used to drive my parents crazy to take me caroling and they were not so keen but my best friends parents used to take us and i loved it, i have not been for years but I still love it when we have carol singers on our door.

When I was a kid, and into my early teenage years, the church I attended at the time would go caroling. We'd go to some church members' houses, but we'd also visit people who we knew didn't get a lot of attention during the holidays, and people who didn't have any family. When I was in school, for about five years in a row, my class and the grade above and below me, would all go to a nursing home and sing to the residents. It's amazing how much they enjoyed that. And in turn, we enjoyed it.

Whwen I was younger, i always went with a group of friends to go Christmas caroling. It was such a good experience. You don't see a lot of people Christmas caroling anymore. If i ask my children to go Christmas caroling with me, they look at me as if i had two heads. Singing Christmas carols can really get you into the holiday spirit. My children don't know what they are missing.

i heard a christmas carol every month of December only but on the radio and in the malls or in the jeepnys..but only seldom last december having caroling..i heard only those childrens on the street who are only go on house to house caroling..on few are going into this kind of tradition..maybe it is because other people are not a giver anymore..for them they have caroling because they want to ask money not for celebrating it..the meaning of christmas is gone anymore..

I would never go Christmas Caroling. That would be embarassing. I've sang in front of my parents and it's a good reminder of why I shouldn't do it again.

I always or almost always go caroling with the church. I have also taken just my family. Even when I was dating my first husband, we would take all of our younger siblings and go. it is a lot of fun. You could get a group together, including your kids and visit a nursing home, but call ahead. The residents would love it. Plan ahead now to make that part of your Christmas tradition.

I have always wanted to do this but fear I would ruin everyones holiday spirit with my singing. I don't carry a tune at all. It looks fun, although depending on what part of the country your in it also looks like it would be freezing, lol. I do love to listen to people sing christmas carols, and would love it if people came to my home and did so. A tradition I fear that is a thing of the past for the most part.

yes, but honestly, I really didn't like it, too much stumbling around in the dark and ungrateful people...

Must you bring up Christmas in July? Yes, I have gone Christmas caroling when I was little. I think I went with the Girl Scouts once or twice and with our church group. It was fun back then. I don't think I would do it now that I'm older though.

I love Christmas caroling, and only went once in my lifetime. A group of friends, and I went door to door, singing and walking...the people were great, they gave us cookies and hot chocolate. It was so much fun, and I would love to do it again someday!!

I've done carolling with both the Sunday School in church and the christian fellowship in school and enjoyed every moment of it. This is not to mention the practices we have had and the tuning fork that we have learned to pitch ourselves. Besides moving from house to house, there is also the fun along the way with your fellow carollers. There were occasions that I have to bunk in at a friend's place overnight as we ended the carolling session into the aarly morning hours.

I've gone caroling a few times. Once with a church group, once with a group of people in a small town and once with mostly family while riding on a hay wagon drawn by a pickup. Each time was fun. I wish people would go caroling more. I'd like to go again, as well as hear carolers in the streets. It's a great part of Christmas that's being lost, I think.

Herro 3SnuggleBunnies Mmm, I wrote a response the first time and it didn't load, so here goes again. I love Christmas caroling. I've gone door-to-door, to nursing homes and on the riverwalk. My feet don't let me walk as much anymore. Sooo, I'm leaving the caroling to the younger people. Prosperous mylotting

hi 3snugglebunnies oh yes back in the U of South Dakota when I was in college we went to the college age Baptist church group and we would go out caroling and it was such fun. Invariably someone would invite us in to have hot apple cider and cookies or coffee and cake, and we would really appreciate as at that time of year it was often below zero and so cold. wow but of course we also dressed for it too. But I did enjoy that so much.Sadly I was a young idiot and dropped out of college the next year. but in my fifties I went to junior college got an AA and on to the U of California Irvine where I got my BA in English.I guess caroling is a cold climate thing as they just do not do that here in California.

I have been caroling with my high school concert choir. We went to the old folks home and around the school. Not exactly traditional caroling but we did not have to sit in class.
