Hello everybody, the whole world is described as "vasudhaiva kutumbakam" i.e. the whole world is one vast family. However, whenever I read the newspapers or watch the television, nearly every day I read that terrorists in various parts of the world are killing others fanatically with bombs and bullets in the name of religion. I cannot fathom this fact, hence I feel very sad whenever I read this kind of news . There is an answer in the light of the Vedic teachings. Just as in every jungle there are some animals that are ferocious, as long as the human society remains on the “I am this body" animal platform there are bound to be terrorists. The only cure for terrorism is to educate the all persons in every country that they are not their bodies, that they are all pure spirit-souls eternal servants of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all existence. May there peace throughout the entire universe right now. Please share your views on this. Professor

I have to disagree with this.. Because one president would not be able to manage so many different worlds and cultures... As Different people will not be comfortable managing their countries and cultures within their cultural way.. when you have a leader of one party the opposing party will always cause issues and problems for them... The only way this would be successful is not by one individual but a very powerful and fair world council...

Well to be frank those terrorists are just like man eating animals , and whatever education one gives them its of no use, they have their own ideas ,way of thinking and doing.Someone who kills a two year old child in name of religion , how can they be taught what is good and what is bad.I think idea given in this topic can be applied to guys who are on the verge of becoming terrorists , they can be stopped from brainwashing and joining this hell ride.Actually circumstances and demands of a person effects his or her thinking and lust of anything makes person to act bad.Satisfaction in life is the most important thing, also the respect for life and belief in god.Hope this idea mentioned in topic goes into the mind of people and terrorism stops , because value of a life is too great to be wasted like this.

I have to state that is a very good thought about educating them about not being their bodies, but not all religions teach this, and many do not share the same Vedic views. What has saddened me.. is I have met very compassionate loving, caring and spiritual people.. From many backgrounds.. who then become overtaken by such fear, and or hatred by another group of people suppressing, or harassing their group of people.. That they do bad acts like school shootings, or harming others.. .. All religious teach the important of love, compassion, and tolerance.. But when a person is afraid of another culture, society, or religion that appears to be threatening their culture, society, or religion or something that in general makes them feel extremely insecure and full of fear.. they will either lash out on themselves, or others... if they do not find a way to positively cope with the differences and challenges they meet. Many who are terrorists were people who hit rock bottom in dealing with health or mental health issues, poverty, war, no one being there for them.. who banned together with others they helped each other.. then came up with a plan to act on the world that abandoned them or lead them to the bad traumatic situation in the first place... So they look for others abandoned, poor people, mental health prone people, young orphans that either ran from their parents, or lost their parents in war, they step in rescue them, give them all the love caring, and nurturing they could want and need.. make them strong educate them... but also encourage them to stay away from the scary outsiders...unless doing business.. Then they raise them in their views and religions views that formed out of their groups original need to survive the world that through them away.. then they gather strength, and attack back the world that outcast-ed them, the world that is a threat to their culture, the fear that they are trying to fight, the hurt they are trying to overcome, and trying to be the power they wish to be.. but thy fail to realize that all these attacks are doing is... causing more harm to their people and their cultures...

We are on family. The Bible calls Father Abraham Vedas Brahma Qu'ran Ibrahim... All religions are one family.. just with a slightly different in approach understandings and teachings of the same historical events... As present to the best of each traditions and cultures understandings, and point of view.

hi professor it really should be should it not? what a wonderful thing if people quit terrorizing in the name of religion and instead respected each other and were peaceful and caring. I have read a little of the vedic teachings many years back and was impressed at the peace of it. If we all believed in our own ways in one living God instead of killing each other it would be so wonderful. Peace to you and yours. hugs from hatley.

Unfortunately, many of us these days do not subscribe to this view. We are in pursuit of our own selfish motives. Greed is so much prevalent. We do not think whether our actions would cause harm to other people. However, not everything is gloomy. We still hear tales of people who risk their lives for others, help other people and so on.
