Do you feel like your bugging Him?

I know this might sound crazy to some people but I always try to handle things on my own before praying about it. Then I fail miserably and I ask God for His help. It's not that I don't trust God because I absolutely do. I just feel like sometimes I am bugging Him. I wonder if God feels like we are bugging Him. I try not to ask for a lot because I don't want to bug God with my little problems when there's so many bigger problems in this world. Do you ever feel like your bugging God? Do you think He thinks you are? Thoughts welcome

You ask a good question. From my study of the Bible, the answer is no. God invites us to pray to Him. He wants us to tell Him about all our concerns. Always speak to Him with reverence but as a child would to his daddy or as we would speak to a friend who has our best interests. Some important points: 1) Address Him by name, as Yahweh or Jehovah. Yes, we actually call Him by name. It is not disrespectful. It is the kind of relationship we can have with Him. Isaiah 42:8 (Young's Literal Translation) 8I [am] Jehovah, this [is] My name, And Mine honour to another I give not, Nor My praise to graven images. 2) Whatever we ask, should be according to His will. Read Jesus' model prayer as found in the Sermon on the Mount found at Matthew 6:9-13 3) Read the Bible daily as we don't want a one way conversation where we talk, talk, talk. Where we are the only ones talking. Communication is a two way street. When we read the Bible God gives counsel on how to avoid many problems.

4) Whatever we ask, whatever we pray, always do so in the name of Jesus Christ. Whatever we ask in his name will be given but it has to be according to God's will. We can find out what God's will is by reading the Bible. All the best!

I think God has the power to handle all the problems. But He has His own way of handling things. He also has His own timetable. If we stick with Him, one day we'll live in a totally different world. Whenever I'm not sure He will answer a request, I ask Him anyway, and leave to Him as what He will do. I have full confidence that He will not rebuke me for what I ask. He is my God, my Father, and my closest friend, so there is nothing I cannot tell Him. Have a great day!

Thanks for your response =) I do read the Bible and I do know God says to come to Him about everything but I can't help but to feel I'm being a bit annoying at times. There are such huge problems in this world, mine are minor compared to others. Thanks for your thoughts, it made me feel better about my thoughts.

Everyday as when I place my plea I can't help but wonder if he thinks I am once again sinning as there are so many other with bigger problems. However, if we do not tell God what we need he can't help us so after I boldly place my plea I do however ask for forgiveness if it is an inadvertent sin. So you are not alone in this, as I am the same.

Thanks for your response =) Yeah, I'm starting to think that we are not bugging Him at all, in fact just the opposite.

God said, ask and you shall be given. Given what he said, i think it would bug him if we won't call upon him. It is his joy if we all pray to him. Of course, he won't feel bugged by all our clamors. He has the power to sift through our prayers and answer only those which really needs to be answered and just let be those prayers we can ourselves, if we only try to do it and if we have the patience to wait for it to happen. so, don't worry if you're constantly bugging for something every minute or so, rest assured he doesn't think that way, and if he does, we can be sure if he will give you a sign that it's time for your to gather your acts and do it yourself, lol.

Thanks for your response =) Yeah, I think we should call upon Him more just not always when something bad happens. We need to thank Him for all of the good things that come into our lives because of Him. Thanks for your thoughts on this =)

Maybe not, the church taught us to pray for God either to ask for His help or just simply giving thanks to His blessings to us. Every time I pray, I don't feel I'm bugging Him at all. In fact, I feel more closer to Him every time I ask His help or just by talking to Him in regarding my problems my thoughts.

Thanks for your response =) I do feel closer to God when I pray, I didn't look at it like that. When I am in His presence I feel close to God. Thanks for your thoughts on this =)

I feel the same way, which is probably why I don't pray every night like I was told to when I was a child. A few months ago I actually realized that I "save up" my prayers, or only pray about things that are of extreme importance to me. Also, when I pray, I tell God that I'd truly love if he answered my prayers but that I understand if he doesn't because he has a plan or he has other things to take care of. I don't have a problem with people who pray all the time or pray for "small" things, but I try not to because I see it as me being selfish and inconsiderate.

Thanks for your response =) I always do that, I say to God at the end of whatever I am asking for, if it's Your will. I don't want things to happen if God doesn't want it to happen. God's way is the best way

There's an old saying that's very true -"God helps those who help themselves!" When you believe this truism, your life will be changed. Begin with a Thankful Heart to God for helping you. Carry this Gratefulness in your heart day and night. Also, know in your heart, that God will give you everything you want, and desire. Then, begin to focus on what you want,- make it an important part of your life. You never have to ask for anything - all you need do, is be Thankful for what you will receive. Your daily Prayer! - "Thank You God, for what I have received!"

Thanks for your response =) Do you believe in God? If it's none of my business you can just say that but I didn't think you believed in God from past discussions. Maybe you are someone else but I don't think so... Anyway, thanks for your thoughts =)

lilangelspreschool I have always had this feeling that God helps us a lot more if we do not just sit like wimps and wait for Him to help us when we have not done all we could to help ourselves first, maybe that is sort of like feeling I am bugging him, but I still feel if I do not do my part first then how can I expect Him to help me. hope this makes sense. I prayed for a year and a half for m y son to get a job then one day I suggested to my son why dont you trying networking again as you got several really good jobs that way. He did and the moment he told this friend he met that he had worked with 12 years before he was offered a job. see I had asked God to give me a clue as what to do to help my son get a job. He answered me by putting this thought in my head. And I acted on the thought, and my son responded. God does work in mysterious ways his wonders to preform.,this is a quote folks not my own wisdom.

Thanks for your response =) I agree that we should help ourselves before bugging God about our small issues. I know, isn't it amazing how God answers us sometimes? He answers us when we least expect it and in a way we don't think about sometimes. I think that is awesome.

yes i do like to bug God a lot. i think that He actually likes us to bug more than often. after all i believe that is the way for us to show our love to God to keep coming to Him. and from what i know the reason we have problems is for us to learn how to come to Him. if we don't have problem it may be hard for any one to find time to come closer to God. so don't feel guilty if you pray more often to Him and ask His help. but be assured He is listening to you. ha ha. sometimes it is not really a problem if He is listening to us, but it is a problem if we are listening to Him at all. many times i know that God has listened to me , or listened to all of my prayers, but i failed to listen to Him that is why His answer to my prayer didn't materialize. as i believe i need to follow what He wants in my life. but one assurance i got from Him, is. during the times of my problems and trials, that He will not give me what i wanted in life for now, but i can be assured He will always what i need. and He often give my what i need to get by in life. but i have learned to get what i really want i need to be obedient to Him so that He can shower me with His blessings. so i can walk under the cloud of His blessings every day of my life. but being obedient is not an easy thing. i need to sacrifice some selfish things in my life to be able to do that.

Thanks for your response =) I agree with you, God does want us to come to Him more often. We just have to make sure when we come to Him we also spend time to listen to what He is saying back to us. That's true too, God answers my prayers all the time when I am in need of something. Obedience is hard, very hard sometimes.

I used to ask God all what I want in this life; health, money, a good partner, a success, happiness etc. I did it day after day, until one day I thought I am just a selfish human being. I only ask God for what I want and never bother to ask God for other poor souls. So, I stopped. Now I only say to God that He knows what I want and He knows what is best for me, so whatever God decides good for me I will accept.

Thanks for your response =) Yeah, God knows best. I do pray for other people too but I feel like sometimes I ask to much for me or for other people. I always ask for God's will to be done in my life.

Interesting thought. There were times when I had similar thoughts especially since many times, we turn to God in times of tribulation and often forget to thank him for times of joy. But God's promise is that if we seek with love and faith, we shall find. No man is an island and each person's happiness affects those around him/her. There is no problem to large or to small for God. The world's problems begin with the individual.

Thanks for your response =) Thanks for responding to so many of my discussions . It's true that we talk to God mostly when times are tough. I have been trying to pray more during the good times too. God knows what is best for us, so I always ask for God's will to be done in my life.

Thanks for your response =) I think we should still pray but not ask for to many things from God. We don't always have to ask for things when we pray. We can thank God for all He has done for us and praise Him.

I do think that a lot and a lot of times I ask for so much stuff to make myself or people in my life happy that I feel guilty for asking for more then I thank him for. I also know don't take enough time to praise him and let him know how great he is and how much i appreciate him being there for me! I don't think he thinks were bugging him because he tells us to come to him with everything but wonder sometimes as well.

Thanks for your response =) Sometimes with our every day lives and craziness we do forget about Him. We shouldn't but were all guilty of it at times. I know He tells us to come to Him but I wonder if He ever get's tired of hearing the same things from us all the time.
