What do you usually call your partner, husband, wife, boyfriend and girlfriend? I am in a relationship for 6 years and he called me "pangit" meaning "ugly" and I called him "bakla" means "gay". Bizarre isn't? Haha, I want to be unique and different from others, before my bf call me love, since I don't want to be mushy, I started calling him "pangit", and then he call me that to. Later on, I call him "bakla" as in "gay". I just tease him but I got used to it too. He's ok with it but he don't want others to hear it, ofcourse. Note: He is not a gay, he's a real man, its just that I am hard headed and I get used to that, and he get used to that too. So what yours?

we call each other cookie 'n cream. it was actually his idea because we had a walk to remember while eating our fave ice cream flavor. that time we didn't know we both have the same fave flavor. he loves the cream while i love the cookie so he suddenly called me cookie and i called him cream. cheesy!

chessy indeed! I remember my friend's story, they were calling each other pillows because that's their favorite food to eat together.

well for a start, gay men ARE real men too. they just happen to be attracted to other real men, instead of women. I tend to call my husband Pup or Puppy. sometimes I call him Chick. sometimes Chickpea. he calls me all manner if things. at the moment it seems to be Moggins.

Ok, I'll change it to straight man. Pup or puppy is cute, it sounds like a dog.

Okay, what it with people and pet names for their significant others? My boyfriend and I just call each other by our real names. We don't do the whole pet name thing because we don't see the point. We were given our names for a reason and we love and respect our names. My mom and dad use to call each other by their real names when my brother and I were children and it is a good thing that they did. I got lost a lot as a child, and since I knew my mother's name, if I ever need to find her I knew to tell people what her name was and they would find her for me. My parents knew that I loved getting lost because that was my nature. My mother had to teach me names at an early age. To this day I will call folks by their real names when I see them except for professionals and military service men and women, then I will call them by their respected titles. I have always been told that call people names is also bad for that person self-esteem and that it is disrespectful. I love my boyfriend's real name, and I refuse to call him anything else.

I see, I don't know why lovers having a hard time calling each other in their respective names. I am not comfortable calling him by his real name cause I feel like I am only his friend or acquaintance.
