I was watching the opening credits to Royal Pains when this question popped into my mind. At the end of the opening credits the doctor kind of... comes out of the pool basically by surfacing and being pulled by an imaginary force on his feet. My eyes go to his face, to his chest and arms, and then back to his face, where you see him smiling.
Do you think that the person who created the opening theme intended for that to happen? I guess what I am asking is, have you ever watched a show, or commercial and found that certain gestures made you focus your attention a certain object, or part of a person's body? NO I am not being perverted, I am just asking a simple question.
Does this make sense, or are you completely lost?

Sort of like subliminally peaking our curiosity, or something to that effect?

Actually, there is one show currently that makes me focus on gestures and body parts constantly. Lie to Me. Have you ever seen that show?
Whenever I chance it on TV, I am almost always curious the several 'tells' that they feature when people lie. I most specially like when a character does a certain gesture, and then they show famous pictures of historical figures doing the same gestures.

To be honest I am sort of lost but, if I understand you to say that the way a commercial or intro into something is done it makes us gravatate to a certain area, then yes I understand. I think this is why sometimes an organization or company will do a poll or survey to see where our attention is drawn and what things make us think of, etc. It is a part of the business.
