Have you ever met someone so stupid you start questioning your own intelligence because they are just soo adamant that they are correct and that YOU are the one that is not understanding? Have you ever met someone so stupid you just want to shake them and see if it reverses some sort of brain damage in their head? Is there just any excuse for how stupid some people are? I went to McDonald's with my mum and she ordered a double hamburger and the girl says "we don't have double hamburgers." So my mum says "What do you mean?" The girl says "We have double cheeseburgers." So my mum says, " Well then give me a double cheeseburger with no cheese." The girl says, "ok." STUPID! My mum tells that story all the time, I try not to stereotype people but I really am thinking that maybe the unintelligent people do work in fast food...

Well that made me laugh! But come on! Not everybody who works in Fast Food centers are that stupid. Many of them are smart enough to entertain and give customers what they want. Maybe, you just came across somebody who was way too tired and pre-occupied with other things that she answered that way.

I read your discussion making me laughing hardly . The picture cars are funny. I always met my stupid friend, but I didn't stereotype them. I just respected them.

umm, well that was harsh. I've never been into such situation in my life but for me I wouldn't take it seriously. I'd just smile then leave the place and promise myself that i will never come back there.

In that case I can understand the situation completely. Its not that that particular employee was stupid, as she was trained to get people to say what Mc Donolds considers to be the "right thing" when ordering. I run into the same problem when I worked at Pizza hut. I had to find clever ways to get people to order what we called things, instead of what they thought them to be. I'm sure some of those custmors thought me to be completely stupid. If your mom had said quorter pounder, or something of that nature, then the girl may have responded differently. Ordering from a fast food restruant can be quite anoying for this reason. The stores have spific labels for things, and if someone tries to order what isn't written on the menu, the employees are most likely going to claim such an item doesn't exist. It in no way makes you seem less intelegent, nor are they actually "stupid people" as you so elequently put it. But, rather they are only doing what they are trained to do. And, in some cases, I may be inclined to agree about so-called "stupid " people. had you used a better example, then I may be like..... yeah.... Now. I could tell you countless stories at my days at Pizza hut. Custmors making life a living nightmare. Oh I sware. I can understand them not knowing the differance between pan and hand tossed. But, to act like they still don't know after you tell them. Makes you want to bang your head against the nearst solid object until you pass out so you don't have to listen to the garbage spewing out of their mouths. I'll give you an example of what I mean. At Pizza Hut, one of my many jobs was answering the phone and taking orders. Now, the call starts out normal. Then the dude starts to order. I ask him what toppings he wants, and he starts by saying 'I don't know'. So far not so bad right? So like I was trained, I start listing the toppings we had. Again, not so bad right? The guy seems to listen. Then goes 'no, I want those red frisby-like things. they are flat and kind of spicy' So i'm like okay, do you mean peperonie? The guy then goes 'What is peperoni?' I sware I wanted to break the phone in half after that. He spent ten minutes trying to discribe peperonies to me.... then turns around and asks me what the hell the product is.... Yeah. People like that made my life a living hell. I'm amazed I lasted at my job for as long as I did. But, due to economic hard times, and the boss being a real jerk. I lost my job after working there for six years streight. Some people really make you questions some things.

I belive that you shouldnt torch "not so smart people" they can be good just not to bright and be valuable on their own way, afterall everyone exels at a certain something they might just not do it at being intelligent thats all.

lol. That is pretty funny. I think some people do not realize what they are saying sometimes. I hope these people who say something stupid are just having a temporary moment of stupidity.

wow, really? unintelligennt people only work fast food?? thats definitely a stereotype. What about working fast food just to get through school? You do know that there are people like that in this world don't you?? I don't work fast food, but I have in high school just to get me started in the working world. So i'm unintelligent? I'm a college student who just grad in May. Now starting my radiology program later this August. I think your last statement is unintelligent to be honest. And I'll have to say I've never met "someone so stupid that they are questioning my intelligence" but if i did, i still wouldn't think any less of them!

Ok you obviously missed the part where I said it is a stereotype. Meaning it isn't true yet this is what many people still think, or at least joke about. So stop taking things like I was talking to you, since I don't know you and I wasn't talking to you. And I did not say everyone in fast food is unintelligent. Good for you for going to school, it is important to get an education. Just put it to use and don't take things so literally, and read things carefully. Again, never said everyone in fast food in unintelligent, I said it was a stereotype.

It certainly is very hard to deal with stupid people. As my mother said, "insanity is curable, but stupidity is not". Hayyyyyyyyy, I have encountered many but I prefer not to mind them.

Sadly to say I've encountered a bunch of people like that too. I also don't want to offend but almost all of the ones I met were teenagers. It really made me wonder if all teenagers these days were that dumb. Once again I'm not trying to offend any teens or anyone here, that was just my encounters. I help out at my aunt's donut shops sometimes and I usually get one or two teenagers who can't even count change. I don't know if they're trying to be cute or whatever to their friends but they really come off as being stupid. I mean, we're supposed to learn things like counting change in kindergarten, right? They'd stand there and hold up the line while trying to count out the correct change for me. It gets so irritating after a while so I'm always offering to count it for them just to get them out of my line.

True, teens are stereotyped for being dim witted. Unfortunately for my sister she does fit into that category and stereotype. She is very very stupid. And that is saying it nicely. People were all crazy after Jessica Simpson asked if tuna was really chicken or whatever but my sister would put her to shame. Lol I've counted people's change for them before. But usually it was old people so they did not mind at all. They would just dump it out and I'd grab the change and they'd take the rest back.

Yes that is quite a silly person, hello think outside the box, is how I always feel about people like that. Basically I try to evade myself and not to relate to them again.

Hahaha! I can relate! I don't want to be mean, but there really are stupid people, and I had the misfortune of encountering a lot of them. I have experienced them a lot of times. There's this one recent incident in our store. We own a convenience store and I was the one assisting the customers. A guy 18ish or 19ish asked if we have a big can of spicy sardines. I told him, no, sorry we don't sell any sardines. Boy asked, 'But you have a small can or spicy sardines?'. My impatience still wasn't kicking in, so again I told him, 'No we don't sell sardines.'. Amazingly, he asked again, 'So you don't have not spicy sardines?'. Ok so I lost my patience there and said, 'Of course we don't have spicy or not spicy sardines because we don't sell sardines. We don't sell any kind of sardines. We don't sell any kind of sardines. We don't sell any kind of sardines. Is that enough for you or do you still want me to repeat it a little more?'

lol. I feel you on losing patience with people. It can be hard to keep your patience when you are a worker and the customers are acting like YOU are the stupid one, and of course they can call you names but you can't do anything about it. When I worked in a pharmacy there was a lady whose medication always had something wrong with it like insurance never went through or something. Well we worked hard and we got her insurance through for her so she wouldn't have to deal with them like always and I just needed to inform her about a change in the way the medication looked because the manufacturers changed the design a little. Well she pulled up to the drive thru and I said "I have your prescription but-" and she cut me off right there and started just going off on me and yelling. She was saying stuff like "You guys never do it right! You never have my medication ready and you never do the insurance and its always wrong!" And she was just yelling at me and I couldn't interrupt her to tell her that was not what I was saying so I got frustrated and I said "Well if you'd be quiet I could tell you what I was going to say because that is not what I was going to tell you!" I put the phone down and walked away and had a manager deal with her. I feel bad that I got so frustrated but she was yelling at me and wouldn't even let me explain. Nothing was wrong, and we had just worked hard dealing with the insurance and the doctor to try to get her meds through for her so she wouldn't have a problem this time.

I ever undergne the same things .I went to dinner at the university resaurant. So many people were there.I came to a window to order a noodle and gave them money to a man who were cooking the instante noodles. then I found a seat to wait my food. Well ,a few minutes gone ,a few minutes more gone ,I didn't get my noodle,so I went to ask them how my noodle cook and how long I need to wait .God ,guess what I heared. "what did you want to eat?" I were amazed. "noodle" I repeated politely. "please 5 rmb"wife of shop-owner, I can't believe that . I told the wife of the shop-owner I had payed it .then the wife of shop-owner asked the shop assistant who I gave money to whether I had payed . the shop assistant looked as if he fogot anything.after thinking about for a while ,just asked his wife of shop owner to give me the change. "he has gave me the change" when I heared that "what about my food ?"another man asked angrily. "En..."the shop assistant seemed shy,and spoke haltingly."gave him the change" "what are you doing ? you had gave me the change, but where my food is ?I have been here for a long time ."the man seemed more angrier. "very soon" the wife of shop owner answered smily, and pat on the shop assistant's shoulder and asked to go to continue cooking the instant noodle. then the shop assistant shyly went to do his work. At that moment ,I know the man is that one who you called "stupid people".I think about it over and over when I waited my food. although I don't know the ralationship of the wife of shop-owner and the shop assistant,it's a good deed. so I apologized to the shop assistant when I got my food .beceause I think he live the life by his own self, with his hands.I respect him. that's my story.I just wanted to show let me understand the man who seemed "stupid" and continued to work with their hands.

ah, that is an interesting story. Yes some people seem stupid but they may not be of their own accord. But some people just lack common sense.

LOL! I have a somewhat similar experience, actually, ALL THE TIME! You see, I always order my drinks with "no ice" since I easily get sour throat from very cold drinks or very sweet food. Also, as much as possible, I don't order soda. So that leaves me with the iced tea or whatever juice that's available. For times I'm craving for iced tea, I just tell the cashier, "One large Nestea please, no ice." And they almost always repeat it with, "Ok, one large iced tea with no ice." ?!@# LOL!

I do not think it's a good reply just to ignore them, because there's must be some stupid pepole you have to deal with. you know, maybe your relative, your friends, you boss. My experience is "never argue with them''.I just look them as a funny actor.

Well I must say sometimes I'm so absorbed in my houghts myself, that I could be one of the people considered stupid about practical things. The problem is I realize what I said or did afterwards, and I get really embarassed about it, so I don't even have the peace of mind that usually goes with the canonic "stupids". Said that, a few days ago we were going out of a parking place very full, and there was this guy (old guy) that wouldnt let us out because... he wanted to park in our place! Now, how could he do it if not letting us out? well, ALL of the other cars after him had to move to let us pass. He was so stupid he had it his way. I was shocked.

OMG! Thank you for that LAUGH I SO needed it! Well, mostly I try to stay away from stupid people they are my pet peeve. I have some family members that fall into this category, and I just can't figure out HOW in the WORLD they could be related to me. I have dealing with someone here on MyLot all night that I am really starting to question.. UGh. But I don't want to think about that.. I really needed this laugh. And I take calls all night long from people (I work at an answering service 3rd shift) I could tell you some stories. Even just tonight I had a guy call up his apartment complex at midnight and ask if he could get a key made.... ? Um, not at midnight. I thought maybe he locked out out I said I could page someone if he was.. And he said "What?, No one is there?" I said No, It's after midnight- they are home ...ASLEEP! Oh I'll call back tomorrow then.. YEAH! You do that... MORON! LMAO

Yeah that's definitely right, people working in fast foods usually have a routinary answers to questions from customers, at that they turn questions from customers too complicated to answer that even practical questions are ignored just to answer what they've trained to. That's beyond practical reasons. LOl

Whenever I am in a situation like this, i may get annoyed sometimes but I don't take it seriously. I tried to look on the funny side and just laugh my heart out. Who are we to judge and stereotype people, we have our own shortcomings as well.
